What's the waitlist like on the overtrail right now?

Got the call from the dealer yesterday. Silver won out. Should be here mid-Jan.

Most dealers quote six months on an OT/OT+, but if you're open to multiple colors, they can be had sooner. We got ours in 2.5 months and ended up with my second favorite color and my wife's first choice. Supposedly, the OT/OT+ are only 25% of the overall GX550's produced. Much to my surprise, they are the least sought after as well, with the majority of buyers seeking the Premium and Luxury trims. This, in theory, makes it a touch easier to get hold of an OT.

What he said! Sorry I never responded. Thanks Tex.

I can give you a proxy. My 2024 has 2025 springs and I have Falken AT4W LT285/70-18. Equivalent to 34 x 11.5s. Fit great, no rub even fully flexed/turning off road.

Discount tire test fit an AT4W LT in 35 x 11.5 for me and it rubbed when turning. Could it fit - yes, with a little work.

Factory OT Wheels.

Gratuitous climbing a rock. Had to show my son (blue Taco) the GX could play too.

Add on comment I lifted and did tires for belly clearance. 34’s would have fit my truck on the original 2024 springs. Springs only affect ride height on an IFS truck, but don’t change any geometry. I wanted 1” in ride height to go with ~3/4” of tire to get better belly clearance. From the factory my GX hit lots of rocks. While I still have to be deliberate on approach/departure and route, the incidence of rocks hitting the belly is much improved.

Sorry for the slow response but thanks for the proxy!

Received word from dealer yesterday that my Nori Green 2026 OT+ will be built on 12/24/25 and goes on the ship departing Japan on 12/29/25. Estiamted arrival in Long Beach is 1/12/26. Can’t wait. I will keep you posted as to when the truck hits the rails and is expected to land in Dallas.

Estimate 30 days from the day it hits the ship to the time the dealer receives it. In theory, you should have it by the end of January. Congrats!

Are dealers asking for above MSRP on these?
Only if you want one right away with a few miles that they might have available as a pre-owned or demo. In that case (as crazy as it seems) there are dealers charging above msrp. If you are patient and order one, I don’t think they would charge any mark ups.

No, I am not paying anything over MSRP.

Thanks all! Thanks for signaling that you can order, I wasn't sure if Lexus did that. I'm considering trading my LC in on one.

Well, you're not really ordering one, at least not in the sense that the domestics and euros allow you to do. You can't go into the Lexus/Toyota dealer and tell them you want 'X' paint color, with these seven packages and options, and 'X' color interior, it doesn't work like that. You let them know your preferred colors, the trim level, preferred options, and then they look to see if they have allocations matching that or close to it, and if they aren't already spoken for, you then get to place a hold on that vehicle with a deposit.

Gotcha, I'm afraid I'm looking for a needle in a haystack. I really don't want the moonroof, and I doubt many of them are coming with that deleted.

That will be a hard find indeed.

Confirmed with local dealer that they won't delete the moonroof even though it's an option on the website. Basically, get on the list, take what we get.

I have to decide what I care about more. The only reason I'm even considering it is to get out of the hybrid, but I hate moonroofs. Need to think about what's more important to me. I don't have any real problems with the hybrid but at 18K miles, I still don't really like it.

Have you tried to run the LC250 exclusively in tow-haul mode? It’s not ideal, but it stops the auto stop / start function.

The OT comes with a more old school single row sunroof, where the pano roof is only available on the other trims. If you dislike them, I'd think the OT with the smaller version would be the way to go.

I just leave it closed and the sun shade closed. Once or twice a year I will open it, but generally only when I am up in the mountains. I proably will start opeing it a little more frequently since I am currently replacing one on my F250 which died from lack of use. 2019 King Ranch edition that sits a lot if the time as the ranch truck to the tune of $5,000.
