Yeah, Toyota had a perfectly appropriate truck-style shifter in the 1st Gens, only to morph it into something that looks like it came out of a Miata. :oops:

C'mon now... It's a truck... Give it a truck shifter! :)

I think best combo would have been the 1GR-FE and corkscrew park brake out of the '08 and most everything else out of the '19.

Still have neither, but probably would still have the '08 if I'd bought a crew cab. Loved that truck.
 
Dumb reason why the shift boot is so frumpy.

I get the longer shaft and longer throw, but don't get why the boot needed to be longer... :hmm:

Maybe it is cold and is turtling?
