Second attempt at level campsite. Ultimately the 104 degrees in the shade at 11:00 AM caused me to rethink camping at the rivers edge. Went back up to Mt Trumbull for Saturday's night camp.

Trail to the river I had planned on hiking in the morning. Maybe next time.

Thank you for sharing the pictures of your adventure. What are your thoughts on those new KO3?

This was a great adventure to a part of Arizona I never saw before. Mostly good roads and good weather, but if the weather was rainier or snowy the roads would have been very bad very fast.

I never saw so many deer on one trip before. I saw 60 or more Saturday morning and another 50 or more on Sunday morning.

Only real four wheelin was from Bar 10 down to the river at Whitmore Canyon overlook, Pa's Pocket, and the BLM 1018 between Mt Trumbull schoolhouse and CR3 on the way to Grand Gulch Mine, plenty of other extreme 4x4 roads in the area though, I just didn't partake due to my being alone this trip.

Hundreds of miles of roads in the area to explore someday . . .

Y'all should have come with me!

Thank you for sharing the pictures of your adventure. What are your thoughts on those new KO3?
KO3's were great with good traction even in the mud. No chunking on the sharp lava rocks either. Road noise was very low and they brake good even on dirt roads.

I'm glad they have the KO3s in my size as they are a significant step up from the KO2s I had. Time will tell if they remain soft & sticky or harden up like the KO2s.

So are you gonna salvage those lightly used mining trucks?

Great pictures and sounds like you had a good time. Wish I could have made it.

I was planning a similar route for this summer, but my co-pilot wanted a CO trip. So many areas to explore.

Fantastic pictures as always and great adventure for sure. Hopefully when you decide to return I can join you.

Made it home this afternoon.

1269 miles round trip - over 34 hours of driving in six days. Relaxing sure can be exhausting sometimes :cautious:

Interesting tidbit - based on my Garmin tracking points I started driving down Antelope Valley Road on Friday morning at 10:39 and passed the same spot on Monday morning at 10:51. Three days and twelve minutes round trip.

Great photos. The Arizona Strip is one of the places in the U.S. whose proper exploration requires a lot of auxiliary fuel.

Just because it's call "The Strip" doesn't mean you can take your clothes off. OK, well, not your pants...
