Well my LEASED 2021 Taco with 54,000 miles has had it's first real issue. I was parked with the truck idling & AC running on full blast as it was 115F outside. After about 10 minutes there was a white cloud of smoke coming from under the truck, the AC started making a strange noise, there was a strange smell as well. No more cold air blowing, only warm or hot air now. I have 3 more months on the lease but the dealership (Stephen Wade Toyota) absolute morons from my first interaction with them claim it will be $170 to diagnose and nothing would be covered by the lease or the Toyota standard warranty. Interesting thing is when I called yesterday on the phone, they said "we will cover it under warranty". So I blew an hour today with their bull**** so guess I'm on my own to remedy and repair. Any suggestions where to start?
Thanks

Hmmmm, 96 views and no suggestions? Has this happened to anyone else? I'm thinking the PRV on the compressor blew out the freon (white cloud of smoke) but not sure what would cause the high pressure situation.

1. Open the hood and take a peek to find what is leaking.
2. Or take it to a shop who will do 1 above.

Just saw this, hope you got it fixed.
You probably hit it on the nose, pressure relief valve. Normally those over 500 psi. This can happen if you lose the fan clutch or something obstructing the air flow through the radiator.
The part that sucks is the cost of the refrigerant. My cost on a 10 pound bottle of 1234 YF is about $700. Not sure what that will resale at but i”m guessing $100 a pound.
Two pounds of refrigerant, fixing the main problem plus labor.
Gawd I miss 134 refrigerant.
