2020 LX 570 weight? (1 Viewer)

I've seen the curb weight for the 2020 LX as being 6,000 lbs. Recently, I've been on the scale at the town transfer station and the weight shown was 6,400. I weigh about 160 lbs. Is the curb weight measured with an empty tank?

If gas tank was full, that would be 24 x 6 = 144 lbs. Add in my weight, gets to 304. So that would be 6,304. My LX is stock, so I'm still wondering where the extra 100 lbs comes from...

Different trim levels, maybe?

Most publications generically quoted 6,000 lbs for even the early model year LX570s which were wrong. And the later model years definitely gained some features and weight. There were some publications that scaled actual weight. In my mind the 2016+, IIRC were in the 6200-6300 range, so your numbers check out.

I can't find the specific content anymore from the publisher as it's been taken down, but here's what I quoted when I researched this previously

^There's lots of variability in the reported weights. The current LX also has 2 row vs 3 row configurations. I suspect the 6000lb claimed weight is on the lighter end of configurations, and perhaps for the 2-row model. Some publications quote the latest 2020 at 6100lbs. Even 6200lbs.

The reality is that both LC and LX have gained features and correspondingly, weight over the progression of the model years. The 2009 LX570 curb weight was 5,995lbs and I don't believe some of the significant added features in 2020 only added 5 lbs. As evidenced by LC reported curb weight in 2009 as 5690 lbs, which has grown in 2020 to 5815 lbs (+125lbs).

This leads me to suspect that for equivalent 2/3 seat configurations of the LC and LX, that the difference is greater than 185 lbs, and closer to 200- 300lbs, based on curb weight deltas over the model years.

I weighed my LX a few years ago when I was checking my trailer weight.

At the time I had:
- 5x 33", P-rated (read: light) tires
- Removed third row
- Rear storage/dog crate setup, figure 150lbs total
- No other significant (weight-related) modifications

My vehicle weight, with me (~200lb) inside, was around 6600lbs.
