2016 LC200 Series suspension question (1 Viewer)

Howdy, looking for recommendations on '16 LC200 suspension. I have about 145k miles and mechanic recommended it's time to look at replacing suspension struts / shocks. This is a daily driver in Dallas, so I still have to fit into parking garages and such, so I am not thinking of lifting at this time. I'm only really able to get it off road 2-3 weeks a year, usually in CO, so lots of highway miles. My question is should I stick with stock Toyota or should I switch? Old Man Emu, FOX, ICON .... thoughts, experience? Thanks in advance for any help.

Stock toyota, which is surprisingly cheap on the discount sites, or maybe something like the Bilstien B6/4600 series if you want just a little tighter damping and motion control in a stock bolt-in option.

That said, unless your shocks are leaking I'd bet they are fine. Toyota seriously overbuilt these things.. I replaced my stockers at 100k with new Genuine Toyota because I assumed they had to be worn, and couldn't notice a difference at all.

For your use case OEM sounds like the best bet

Otherwise I have had great experience with BP51s. Again though the nitrochargers are probably a better fit for what you need if you insist on aftermarket

I just gutted my 2010 LC200 with 216k on the clock..

Although shocks showed a little seaping, they were still fine, hard to compress and rebounded nicely, was almost baffling.

What i did that i think made the HUGE difference was replace all the rubber bits and bushings. Sway bar links, control arms, etc... ALL of the rubber was worn and shot to hell.

If keeping stock height, id suggest replacing all the rubber bits and such. Will be a dramatic difference in ride quality and smoothness.

My front sway bar links was almost metal on metal the bushings were so shot
