Hello, I have a feeling my Entune is not the latest version. I looked at the 2016 Entune on YouTube for the Tacoma and it looks more up to date than mine on a 2016 LC with March build date. For example, I need to hit 4 buttons before I can turn off the Nav screen (Setup, Scroll to Next page, Display, Screen Off), while on the Tacoma, it can be done in maybe 2 (App, Screen Off).

Also, when I hit the Setup button, my icons are in a single row, versus 2 rows on Tacoma.

Question for the 2016 owners: does your Entune look like this:

Mine looks more outdated. Plus, how can I check my Entune version? It's usually under Setup, General, System Information, but I don't have that option.

.

Entune is more than just the "App Suite", which I agree is not useful to me. Entune also drives a large portion of the screen interface, and that's really what I'm after. If you use the climate controls, that's Entune. Same with the Setup menu, voice commands, cell phone pairing, maintenance logs and most important to me, screen customization.

From the Toyota website, the App Suite is a package which is part of the overall Entune system:
"Land Cruiser’s Entune™ Premium JBL® Audio with Integrated Navigation and App Suite gives you a high-end entertainment"

My display on the 2016 LC seems too bright even with the brightness turned down at night. Is there a secret night time menu setting?

Also seems sluggish and unresponsive compared to the video in the post above.

Had a total lockup of the display and A/C on my commute this week. Had to restart the LC to get the display and controls functioning again.

Not aware how to make less bright and not an issue for me. For sure the Nav is disappointing (slow, low resolution, no storage for music, etc). It seems a decade behind others. I don't know maybe I am spoiled with my BMW Nav.

Bmw nav? Maybe it is better but in my 750i before I sold it was terrible. Had to delete previous destinations because it would save old ones in a cache and max out. Really stupid stuff. Not a big bmw fan.

I was not a big fan either of BMW nav until I got my 16 LC. I don't know what version of your on 750i was, we have 14 435i and is waaaay better.

Yeah, I have a 2008 750LI and it does save previous destinations that need to be deleted when you reach 10. It also has no night map, so the brightness needs to be turned down. It's not their best system for sure, I had a 2010 550i and that worked perfectly.

As for the Toyota Entune, I don't own one but have used the system and I think it works very well.

Completely useless and limited to crappy 4-5 Toyota apps with no way to add more. Already forgot that I have Entune.

My sentiments exactly! Since Toyota seems incapable of making Entune operations similar between vehicles, I just don't have a need for it. It's frustrating and confusing at best.

Sorry to bring back an old thread but after 3 weeks in our 2016 I, too, am disappointed with the Nav system - and I was coming from a Land Rover LR4 which wasn't a lot better. Also, I can't seem to find a decent list of the Voice Commands to use with the Nav System. For example, I like to use Voice Command to change the zoom on the Nav system when I am driving back roads and don't want to take my eyes off the road to adjust the zoom level. But I can't figure out how to tell the Voice Command to zoom in and out. It is probably easy but I can't find a list. Another sticking point with me is being able to set a destination as a city. Just a city. Pick the center of the city. I don't care. I like to use this when on long road trips to have a sense of mileage and time to the next major city. But it seems to want a street address. Any ideas on how to do this? What am I missing?

And, yes, big screen with low resolution just looks bad. Makes me wonder if they had a bunch of left over screens they had to get rid of.
