Contemplating a crazy idea swapping out my 19 Tundra TRD pro for a newish LC.

Any changes from 2016-2020?

Is there a year to avoid?

Found a used 19 for about 20k below MSRP. Also found a 18 for 21K below MSRP.

I went from a ‘17 Tundra 1794 to a ‘17 LC and never looked back. ‘16-‘20 are all the same and all good. (‘18 and up made the RES optional). Those are good prices. Go for it :bounce:

2018 and up no longer have the rear entertainment system as standard equipment.

2018 and up has automatic rear view mirrors that folds in when you lock.

Not sure when the soft lower rear door drop changed.

I would avoid those screens if you can! I have a 1794 and my wife drives the kids around in our 18’ 200 and I’m jealous all the time. Welcome to the club!

2018+ adds:
-Power Liftgate
-Automatic Folding Mirrors
-New Key Fob that says Land Cruiser and looks sleeker
-Rear screens now optional
-Comes stock with the updated transmission calibration firmware (2016-2017 has to have a TSB done to update it - jerky otherwise)

Also not 100% sure, but I remember reading somewhere that the infotainment screen was updated from resistive to capacitive touch for 2018, which would make it more responsive. I feel like there's one more updated feature I'm missing but I can't remember.

You are not crazy. The 18 through 20 are identical. I just went from a 2017 Tundra to a new 2019 LC. The 2019 was nearly $10k off the MSRP. Even better was the trade-in value for the Tundra, which was great -- about $4k less than what I paid for it.

Just sold my 2013 Tundra and picked up a 2019 MGM LC and I'm loving it!

Dammit guys..... my wife will be pissed... oh well she just got a lifted ORP 4runner with KO's2.....that should keep her quiet for a minute.

This is my personal 2018 LC200 that I just traded in Friday for a 2019 LX. She is classic silver on terra and I kept her clean. Mall crawler. Waited 4 months for her to come from Japan as I could not find that combo. I even had a rustproofing treatment done when new, it comes with terra grappler g2s and drone remote start installed although the dealer probably doesn't know any of that. I guarantee they are negotiable as they cut me a great price on my LX. 21k miles.

Do you have any pictures? Website has none.
Any reason you got rid of it besides swapping to an LX?
Fluid film or some other rust proofing?

It was done by a major car detailing chain called delta sonic. I believe the paperwork is still in the glovebox. I also believe it is lifetime transferable. Cost was around 350. I just loved my 4runner so much I had to try the LC and then loved my LC so much I had to try the LX. I paid ~75 on the LX and they gave me 62k on the trade. Plus I really like atomic silver which is a Lexus staple.

The only thing of note is a very minor scuff on the passenger side behind the rear door from when I knicked it with a baby stroller lol

I had 16 and now I have the 20. Definitely go for the newest you can afford. Even though they look the same and 18 had few updates as automatic lift gate, folding mirrors, nav screen uses different tech, overall I have noticed further small updates. For example as basic + battery terminal cover attaches in a better place, rear lights have a different surround where screws go in, different KDSS valve may have been added to 19. Toyota definitely was making improvements each year.

Regarding pricing. My 20 was 10.5K off MSRP. You don't have to compromise for 19 to get a deal on new. Shop around Toyota dealers 100 miles around and you will be surprised what you can get.

I would have loved to have been able to keep the LC and add the LX but the wife doesn’t love the lc200 like I do. Huge fan of the LC but if you entertain LX 2 row there is about 6k dealer cash on top of generous discounts. Mid 70s is doable.

The only reason I was able to let her go is by adding another silver lc200 lol

114060 ND sub! Good choice my friend

I could have gone the LX route, for just a few dollars more. Love the Atomic Silver! Just not a fan of the spindle grill and the mouse pad controller. I use a curser pad at work and it sucks! :bang:

plus, I have always been a fan of the Land Cruiser!

Also LC holds value better. ;). I was amazed what I got for my 16LC.
