After a multi-year drought, my eldest son, two of my friends, and I finally got drawn.

Bull Elk, Unit 22 North, 12/4 - 12/10

Of course my son has finals at ASU that week :bang::bang::bang::bang:

Who else got lucky???

What more important:
Spending quality time with dad, hunting for elk
or
Some stupid tests?

Sound like a certain wedding/ROTM conundrum a certain someone was recently saddled with :hmm:

Btw; congrats GB on getting drawn . 22 is a good unit at the very top right below 5A and 6 A

Congrats! My wife has always gotten on me about taking the kids out of school for hunting. There are some things that are more important and life's lessons are one of them. That said, if you can work around the finals at least he gets some time in the woods. We missed three days last year on my boys deer hunt for testing.

I got drawn for 10 late hunt. Will be signing the tag over to my son who still has not been drawn for a big game tag (other than javelina) for the past 4 years, I have to keep giving up my tag. At least his BP are building but I wonder, once he turns 18, does he start getting drawn and I go on a cold streak??? A this rate I may never go hunting again!

I have never heard of signing a tag over. Anyone got drawn and what to sign over bull elk tag in either 5a, 6a or 6b because they can't use it I would put it to good use.

i think I heard (?) it can be done with immediate family

Yes it is allowed with family members. You have to go to G&F HQ and pay a nominal fee. Done this the last 3 years.

We have 2 youth cow tags in 6a.

Congrats - no luck for me personally this year. Was in 22S last year in November. Your December trip should be cold at night but.....you already knew that. Good luck and be sure to share how the trip goes!

Finals matter - the nation as a whole is >12% unemployment for recent college grads (NPR report on my drive home today). Just something to consider as the job market remains a bit competitive for those not yet with a lot of experience.

take care....

Just a thought, AZGFD must have the most archaic computer system in the state (I thought our company did). I usually have patience, but common' ding my credit card and keep us waiting..:hmm:
