Hi, here is a very frustrated lx owner, got a 2013 lx since this April, has been trouble free to me except the rear view camera not working, last month I had a windshield replaced by lexus dealer and things started to go bad, on the day I took the car back from windshield replacement, I noticed some water on floor mat, dealer told me it was from interior wash, and two days of parking the car won't start, jump started and it was fine, but I took multimeter to check and find a 0.9A parasitic draw when car is locked. Took the car back to deal next week, it took them two week to told me that the sunroof drain clogged and water went down to the floor and cause the damage. But they also said it is a long term damage not from their single wash. I don't have the comprehensive coverage to have to pay out of pocket which I will never own a car without comprehensive from now on.
So now I am just waiting for a huge quote from them, but I want to see if you guys have better idea. I visited the dealer today and tried to jump start, but they let the battery drained to long to the battery is damaged, (planning on bring a new battery to try start the car again).
My options are
1. Let the lexus dealer fix it(the most expensive option I guess)
2. Find a indy shop, I live in new york tri state area but don't know a good shop, open for recommendation
3. Try to deal with it myself, my plan is to clean the wiring(or replace it if it is really bad), just not too confident this is DIYable.
