As the title suggests, my front passenger vents are not allowing air to be blown strong. I turn the climate settings from Lo to Hi and all vents throughout the truck increase in air flow - except for the two front passenger vents.

After running the HVAC self-diagnosis, two codes are returned: 42 and 48.

I’ve read a little on 42 being about servos, but can’t get much on DTC 48.

Tried pulling some of the HVAC fuses and they looked fine.

Also checked my cabin air filter and it’s fine. Even ran the hvac without a cabin air filter to see if that’s the bottleneck. Same result- passenger vents aren’t blowing strong like the rest.

Perhaps something is keeping the air from coming out those vents. Maybe it’s a servo.

it’s possible it could be wiring, connection, some circuit board, or some motor. Am just guessing at this point - and appealing to the experts herein.

Thanks in advance!

Same problem and question but in a 2016. No codes. Add mouse damage to air cabin filter.

Had a similar issue…is the air cool or cold?

My issue ended up being the compressor. Lexus dealership let me buy the parts and they installed. They installed new compressor, clutch and drier.

Interestingly they went trough at least two compressors I know of. They had my rig for about 3 weeks with techs trying to figure out the issue after the install.

Apparently, the magnet on the clutch was installed backwards and was causing a polarity/power failure on the system. I didn’t see the part but was told that there were no markings that indicated correct side for the magnet. All is well and they were gracious and apologetic throughout the ordeal.
