What sliders had issues? I have my suspicions on which ones are more flash than substance and which are the “best”.
My Metaltech sliders on my 200 series are bolt on into the frame, super solid and have never had any issues. My Metaltech sliders on my LX470 use a U-bolt to connect them and the hundreds of blows the sliders took continually on the Rubicon were too much for them to hold in place(only shifting slightly, but enough to cause tire rub) I love the metaltech sliders, they are rock solid and never bent or failed at all, but the U-bolt system may work on lessor trails but in my opinion they just allow for a small amount of give, and that give can translate into tire rub either in front/rear. Or even worse it could cause the slider to be pushed into the AHC system and cause it to fail. Lucky for me it just caused a little bit of tire rub until I was able to get them repositioned back into place. I'm sticking with the Metaltech sliders, and believe the kickout on them potentially saved me some body damage, that being said I'm going to weld them on so they no longer can shift while on the rocks.

Super interested to know what failed on the AHC system. Any updates?

The 80 series Land Cruiser is a thing of beauty. They seem to have that trail dialed.

Nothing too special here. Really didn't have the time or inclination to take a ton of video, but here's a compilation of what my daughter took. Some good shots of @SchobTime in the 200 and @kreiten in the LX470.

Side note on the sliders - I have White Knuckle sliders on my 200 and they have a kickout as well. The design is very similar to the Metaltech ones on the 200. I think they have the same U-bolt design as Metaltech uses on the 100... not sure if it's a case of one company copying another or if the 200-series mounting wouldn't have worked on the 100, so welding might be your only option.

I've seen videos of people getting hung up on the kickouts before but like you I'm a fan of the added protection in that spot since the body pokes out a tiny bit

Those treps look so dang good.
Thanks buddy, loving them so far! Went out to Tahuya on Sunday, totally dust bowl right now! Once we get some rain let's get a convoy out there!
