UC will be holding its Annual Meeting Sept 19. I assume it will be at Aunt Sues on Hwy 11 in Pickens Co - will have to check. At the same time we have our Officer elections to see who will run the club for the next year.

How this works is we first have nominations. Please PM or email me @ steve.springs@gmail.com your nominations. If the person you nominate accepts then they will be in the running for that position. The person you nominate has to accept. You may nominate yourself. I'll take nominations until about 2 months out from the Annual and then I'll post up the names in the running for votes.

I'll be stepping down as President next year. It's been real.

Here are the positions up for election.

President
Vice-President
Secretary
Treasurer
Land Management
Safety Officer
Events Officer
Delegate to TLCA
Low Country President
Low Country Vice-President

Have confirmed 15 for breakfast at Aunt Sues - said a few more might be coming too.

Come ready for the raffle. I'm going to pick up some prizes in the next week!

Here we are guys (and girls). Time to step up!

Up for elections.

President: Basically run the show. Working with all other officers making sure that all the bases are covered. A good president should be willing to listen to it's members needs.

Vice President: Assist the President in doing all the above. Fill in when the President is not available and to make club decisions pending approval from the president.

Secretary: Will be responsible for making sure the President and Vice President have not forgotten anything , sending out new member packets, tracking member dues dates, selling and maintaining merchandise.

Treasurer: As most of you know this is the money person. Mary Hardin has done a great job of keeping us in line and the money flowing. I'm pretty sure most of us will agree that this position is a given.

Land Management Officer: This person will work with state and local officials as well as other local clubs to help keep our trails open and preserved. This person will also work with the Events Officer to make sure we are where we should be and legally on the right trail.

Safety Officer: Someone who is willing to help make sure we stay safe while going on rides and has a good understanding of recovery.

Events Officer: Responsible for scheduling our events and making sure everyone is informed and included. This is not a position to be taken lightly. To me this person plays the most important role in our club. But done right it can be a very rewarding position.

BOD Delegate for TLCA: Willing to sit in on monthly conferences with all TLCA chapters and officers. Work with the TLCA to help promote our club as well as provide a vital link between UC members and TLCA. Help promote the benefits of being a TLCA member. Give UC feedback to issues going on within TLCA.

We are also adding two new officers this year. Considering we have a new sub chapter LowCountry Cruisers and they have been expanding we are adding a Sec/Tres and Events officer.
These will be:

LowCountry President: Runs the LC show. Schedules the events and works with UC to help promote the club.

LowCountry Vice President: Backs up the Pres with all duties.

LowCountry Sec/Tres: Keeps the books, assists LC Pres and VP.

LowCountry Events: Helps to plan events - tosses out new event ideas - pumps events on the LC and UC forums.

Here are our nominations that have been accepted so far. If I have left anyone out or put anyone in where they aren't supposed to be please let me know. I still have a few LC nominations out that I have not heard from.

Now is the time to throw your name into the mix. If you want to help out with UC and guide what UC does please step up.

Correction - I was just reminded by my iPhone that I am in Atlanta the entire weekend of the Annual for work so I won't be able to make it. :crybaby:

The annual is also scheduled for the same weekend as the Beasley Bash (or at least, last I heard)...

Still true.

Your pres your the final say. Maybe talk to LC and see what they can do about moving the date back. Dunno.

Hate we would plan an event on top of another clubs main event. GA Cruisers have been good to us.

This is all another good reason for all the clubs to get together every once in a while and plan out major events so stuff doesn't overlap.

Yowsers, too much going on at the same time! I didn't realize that was the Beasley Bash weekend too. I second, Troll's idea of a SE Regional BOD Summit, maybe at the end of the calendar year, not too many events going on then. Only thing I've heard is the Ga Cruiser's Tellico Raffle Truck is going to be announced in December.

Does this mean the only real voting is for the LcLC Events position OR...

Are those two gonna be the Lenny & Squiggy of LcLC events :flipoff2:

LYMI

no lenny and squiggy here....THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE!!!!:flipoff2:

I was planning on three back to back events.......19th Annual UC, 26 LC Boil, 3 Oct a Biker Party I co host. Lowcountry Boil dates have been set for months and been on our calendar since then.

Beasley is the reason we originally scheduled the annual for the 19th. We didn't want to step on toes and/or perhaps wanted to attend the bash as well as annual.

No email has been sent yet.
