Well are not only Diesel related .. but I'm a mostly diesel guy. No matter whan I feel much more comfortable here ( in this section ) so I will post it here and maybe a cross link to the 80 section ..

First, I pass last 3 or 4 months buying parts and making my schedule to this week, I take a week of vacation and start the job ..

The targets ..

1. Tires of those por light with old wiring .. got my mind clear with the issue that I want 4 H4 full function all the time ..

2. 3" straight pipe

3. Snorkel ( just for fun and the look .. never cross my mind that I need to use it in my Mall queen )

4. Pyro / Boost / Oil Press / Tranny Temp gauges all after plenty of research win ISSPRO ! ( and In need to add I'm highly satified .. )

5. Tranny Cooler .. I choose one of those huge B&M tranny coolers ..

6. Timing Belt

7. Bebs

8. Injectors

8. Alternator

So here is .. I start pulling the alternator and injectors ( the injectors was the tuff part .. some rust and old injectors are hard to geting out but not real pita .. the real pita come with the washers and the instalation )

Patend pending with this light harness .. ending using 6 relays to get the factory signal .. and yes with a trick I have the hi beam light on dash !

main.php

The H4 I'm using right now 4 H4 Bosh 100/90 bulbs and 2 hella head lamps and 2 Bosh .. the hella come with the center cover for the bulb and seems to bright more than the Bosh that does nor cover the bulb .. ( I choose this config just to try which it better )

main.php

All my stuff .. plenty of cable ( use #14 ) and relays .. etc ..

main.php

If someone really know how the Toyota wise minds can do the same thing with only 1 or 2 realys .. please let me know ..

main.php

BEB's job ..

main.php

Here come the start of PITA work .. new NPT thread for the oil hole in the block, tight to work there ..

main.php

I would upload a video with this light function ..

More on the sides than in the middle .

In some more than others .. it means they are moving side by side .. it means I need to start saving money .. I saw a complete rebuild in my future ..

main.php

That you need to conect the ISSPRO oil sender ..

main.php

And the same for the tranny cooler sender .. at the factory place is .. in this pic you can see the factory sender ( like a cap in the right side )

main.php

In this pic the tranny port and the cable for the factory sender ..

main.php

Here both lines .. the in and out ..

main.php

The best part .. my 3" straight pipe exhaust .. 3" lift with 315 tires Toyo OC MT ..

At the end .. my interior ..

main.php

My gauges ...

main.php

I really gotta love this picture ..

main.php

I need to recognice that the ISSPRO have a clear view ..

main.php

And keep as posible my interior factory look ..

Close view ..

main.php

Dirty little secret !

main.php

Pasenger relay set ..

main.php

Drivers relay set .. ( yea I know .. put a little order in this mess )

main.php

Pyro probe .. ( pre turbo sure .. ! ) in the exhaust manifold . ..

main.php

Closer view ..

main.php

Clean instalation and water resistand wiring ..

main.php

3" downpipe :grinpimp:

main.php

Tranny cooler ... have a space for a future PS cooler also ..

main.php

my AC fan ..

main.php

My H4 set ..

main.php

Cables throught the firewall

main.php

Oil press sender braket with the factory oil press sender also .. ( miss the factory conector .. and need to found other one or made a new one .. )

main.php

I found that this conector was empy .. so who know the purpose of this outlett at the 1HD-T IP ?

main.php

Tranny sender in place ..

Well guys that's all ..

your dirty secret.... is that an adjutable pressure controller for the wastegate?

LOOKING GOOD! The gauges are pretty nice.

When you did the BEB's did you plastigauge the bearings to see how the new ones are? They might be fine... maybe your engine doesn't need a rebuild.

Here my impresions ..

The most important thing that I found are the EGT range .. good ( or not to say perfect ) working injectors and IP .. and at factory boost setings 10 PSI the EGT fly direct to the heaven in 1 min .. pedal to metal .. even with the 3" straight pipe exhaust ..

You can reach easily the 1250 barrier in less than 10 km of full throtle .. if you tune the boost a little up, they can be controled better ..

I'm running 14 PSI right now .. not necesary to say, that I'm really happy at the " safe " range of boots. But also take a run @ 20 PSI .. woooooohoooo !

What a powa !!!!! :grinpimp:

Other note are my oil press .. I remember clear that the FSM for my 2H claims for at least 4 PSI at idle @ normal operative temp and 36 to 64 PSI @ 2000 rpm at operative temp ...

And actually the 1HD-T can meet those numbers with more than 20 - 26 PSI @ idle ( depens on the hard or not hard run ) and 48 - 54 PSI @ 2000 rpm ..

The only thing that make re think about it, it's the oil press at cold start .. that not pass over 62 PSI when in my 2H are more than 85 PSI ..

thoughts .?

your dirty secret.... is that an adjutable pressure controller for the wastegate?

And the winner is .. !!! din din din din din din din !!!

Yes it's a manual boos controler ..

When you did the BEB's did you plastigauge the bearings to see how the new ones are? They might be fine... maybe your engine doesn't need a rebuild.

plastigauge ?

can you elaborate on it .. ?

After some runs .. I need to say that the factory IP and boost setings in my 1HD-T can easily raise the EGT up to 1200 in less than 5 min of you skiny pedal at 1/2 of this travel ..

I'm pretty impresed about it .. with 14 PSI you can control it a little more .. I can't figure how hight they ( the EGT's ) could be in a long run at my fuel settings with the skiny pedal to metal ..

Tapage,
Hey man, she looks great with a little surgery! heh, heh.

Will you make adjustments to the IP to maintain control of the EGT temps? How often are you able to run wide open throttle for more than a minute? There must be big highways in Pasama, es verdad?

What about bringing the boost regulator into the cabina? Maybe you can adjust boost "on the fly". Perhaps you could mount it under the center console so only the knob is visable?

QUESTION: I see your gauges have illumination! Did you connect the new gauges to your dimmer?

Not to steal anyone's thunder......

Plastigauge is a tool used by rebuilders to confirm the new bearings are a good match to the journal diameter. Plastigauge is a plastic material in a strip that you cut into small pieces and install between the bearing and journal, in a lateral orientation. The plastic deforms when you torque the cap down. Then you remove the plastic strip and measure it's deformed thickness to determine the tolerance and uniformity of tolerance of the bearing.

Did I miss anything, Mr. BB?

I have 4degrees advanced time @ IP and 1/2 turn to the fuel .. are not for the EGT control exactly anycase :grinpimp:

Not in the city ( not at least in the middle of ) but have a close HW here to my office ..

Well I little worried about the distance of tubbing .. and In my case the boost controled are not for play that muych with it .. so I let it set at 14 PSI and that's it .. it function to me.

Yes .. sure I do .. they iluminate with my dash lights ( along with the alarm ) as same as are wired from my ignition to get power, pretty easy if you get access to your fuse box.

Damn .. thank Rick .. to much info to my head ! :D

I like those ISSPRO gauges. I would like to use them in my truck. But I am concerned because the lights in my truck use 2 power sources and light the lamp through a voltage difference. Is Marilu the same or does she only have one wire to the lamps?

Rick .. the gauges have 2 port of the bulb, one its powa and the other ground, pretty easy. I'm not sure what you mean with 2 power sources .. ? ( 12V and 24V .. ? throught a converter ?)

I pic the powa for my light from the fuse box after the fuse, then run a wire to share out powa for all gauge bulbs.

awesome truck!

Thanks !

How are the new lights working out?

Niiiice .. ya I know .. I wil take a pic tonight .. unluckily haven't a pic with the previeus setup ..

Has your passenger rear tire been effected by the exhaust fumes?

As far as I know, not .. or at least not yet .. the only concern it's the black mark in my alum factory side step .. :D courtesy of my Turbo diesel engine .. :D
