Did you wash and wax your rig as well?

Hey now. When your rig is as good as mine, that's all that's left. :flipoff2: I wish.

I didn't wax the inside, but I was thinking about it.

Don't forget to Armor All your tires!

I was thinking about it. I don't want them all shiny, but it would be nice if they were cleaner. Maybe I'll dig up a brush and something stronger than soap.

There's a car show downtown on Saturday. I'm going.

5 days bitches!
Hoping to get the Friday off!
Just went out to Cabelas this eve and picked up one of those 3 in foam bedrolls for the back of the rig. Cant wait to try it out.
Its a little big, but im OVER the air mattresses with the punctures and general deflation!

Cant wait to get out and wheel with you all!

You should have just UPS'ed them to me.

:grinpimp:

What would you do with 45 Beverage Coozies that say STIHL on them and a dozen or so STIHL caps?

I was going to send more stuff and other stuff but a few complained last year that the raffle was too long last year. I didn't want to upset people this year.

booo-friggen-hoo, the free raffle took too long. wow.

no worries dan, i know you did'nt complain.

but i did think about this and came up with a solution:

i nstead or working our way thru the prizes like we did in the past, i'm going to assemble "prize-packs", i started doing this a couple of years ago by grouping raffle items together to speed up the raffle.
well, this year i'm going to count the # of raffle tickets i handed out by sunday 3pm and will consolidate all the raffle prizes into that number of "prize-packs". that way everybody still wins, but they only win once. however, instead of just winning one item you'll win an assortment of stuff.
this will also speed up the raffle considerably.
the cash raffle will proceed as always; i will designate somebody other than myself to draw ONE winning ticket for half the cash generated by the cash raffle. the other half will go to friends of the rubicon, just like last year.

if anybody has any input, questions, suggestions, concerns or complaints with the raffle, please let me know. i'll be more than happy to make this as easy as possible.

this event has gotten bigger than i thought it would when i first started it back in 2000. so in the future i might be looking for some help to get it set up; hard to keep up with everything.

last but not least, i have ordered the event t-shirts. they will be avaiable at the event. i'll surprise you with the color and design. i have 100 shirts on order. if we run out, i can/will order more since i'm sure that some people who won't be able to make it to the event would like shirts as well, just like in previous years. the couple of extra bucks i make on each shirt helps pay for the freebie shirts i send out to some of the major event sponsors.

PS: thank you so much for sending the raffle prizes up ahead of time. without guys like you, the raffle would'nt be nearly as well stocked as it is.

so here's a big thanks to all the raffle sponsors!

yup, got it, thanks bro. i will definetly hold onto a shirt for you. xl or xxl?

garrett will be doing safety checks and security detail on sunday, so if anybody's thinking about getting out of line, you might want to re-consider unless you're cool with baby spit-up on you! :p
myboy.webp

i will be getting there late fri. early sat. any one else headed up from the bay area?

I'm going up there fri night,

I'm gonna head up on friday. Might try and hook up with Fast Eddie and follow him up.

Hey greenfox, I was wondering if you would still be down to help my tune up my 74 before the trip. I would really appreciate it. I just finished my fj60 disk swap today, so it's almost good to go.

I think my 40.5 can pass his tech/safety inspection.

XL Shirt.

Wait, there's a tech/safety inspection?

OK, i'm a 55. am I exempt?

:D

How much are TEE's, and how much is the raffle?
How is the food and drink set up, is it a community pot luck, or BYOB/F? Ive been planning on bringing enough for me to be self sufficient, and a bit more to share but if more is the standard...Im down. Any thing that I have with me, anyone is welcome to.
Is it wheel as you want type runs?
Any other info regarding the "culture" of this group would be greatly apprecaited. I dont wanna be "THAT GUY"!:D
Additionally, if there is anything that I can do...lemme know!

Thanks for organizing this run George.

Looking forward to meeting you all!

glad to hear you're gonna make it dude!

here's the skinny:
the raffle is free as long as you bring a cruiser. everybody gets one ticket and is assured a win. it's become somewhat of a custom for everybody to bring a raffle prize, but it's not a requirement. the cash raffle is a "winner take all" deal. tickets are $10 each. you can buy as many as you want. we draw onw winning ticket. that ticket gets half the cash in the hat, the other half goes to 'friends of the rubicon" to help keep our local trails open.
it's pretty much byob, byof. but if you bring extra, that won't hurt. sounds like joe and paula are going to try to make it. that means we'll have a pig on the spit for sunday afternoon.
there are no formal runs at the event, but we usually get two casual groups together; stockers and wheelers. they will then head off in different directions to have some fun.

culture?! well, you might have to go somewhere else for that. but it is a family event. so please be condsiderate around camp and keep all animals on a leash at all times. after the sun goes down, the bar opens up........

see ya in 5 days!
