A buddy of mine just bought a 2008 Land Cruiser. He noticed that he cannot stream music from his phone through Bluetooth. He can however use Bluetooth for normal phone calls. Is this normal for these model years or is there something wrong? Mine is a 2014 so I have no idea how his is supposed to work. Thanks and Merry Christmas!

You’ll need to use a Bluetooth adapter via the AUX port...or install one of the fancier units others have documented here.

Personally, I run music and satellite radio through a dash mounted iPad via the AUX port. Works a charm and gives me all the power of iPad based navigation tools. I keep my console screen turned off—which immediately makes the dash look a whole lot less dated. The mapping software is pretty crude. Good to remember that the 2008 was designed well before iPads even existed, and a year before iPhones could add apps (2007 and likely much earlier in the 200’s development).
