Has anyone ever replaced a brake light on a late year LX470? My left one is out and am not sure if I just have to replace the housing? Can't find any good info

Thanks

Owner's manual should show bulb replacement. Removing light housings on newer trucks can be tricky to do w/o breaking something.

Sadly the 06/07 LX have LED, and they are sealed. It can be opened by baking it in the oven similar on how you retrofit headlights. That’s just half of the battle, the remaining challenge is to source a Quality LED replacement that would last.

Dang not what I wanted to hear...How common is this? Any chance it could be something else? Truck has about 127k miles

Not often do I see an 06/07 LC or LX LED taillights go out honestly.. is it the whole tail light that LEDs went out? Or just a few? If it’s the whole taillight hopefully it’s just a loose pigtail connection.

Yes...I too am in need of replacing a $300 "bulb" on The World's Most Reliable Vehicle.
Seems like it's always the left side, per my research.
Someday it may make sense to me why this LED housing thing is a better design than the <$5 bulbs in my 2004 4th gen 4Runner that may've been replaced once in their lives, and easily.
