I recently moved on from my 80 series and found a 2006 LX in great shape locally with 200,000k.
One thing I unfortunately did not notice test driving it is that the brake pedal slowly looses pressure while I am stopped at a stoplight. The cruiser brakes firm and fine otherwise. Coming to the initial stop both at low and high speeds feels fine and normal every time. Its only at a long stop that the pedal starts to fall.
Searching the forum I see the documented issues that are most commonly seen in 98's and 99's but I am not seeing anything for a late model LC/LX and I am not experience a complete loss of brakes. I would assume my culprits are a failing master cylinder or excessive air in the brake lines? Could a failing caliper also cause this condition?
No codes, lights or warning sounds, reservoir is full with no found leaks.
I am scheduled for 200k service at Slee at the end of the month that includes brake service, but I am wondering if this is something I should try and get addressed sooner especially if its predicates a larger issue or a future sudden failure.
