Detailed Info:

Maintenance/Repairs:

All maintenance has been kept up to date. I have the records from the PO, he took it into the dealership every 5k miles. I had the 60k service done by the dealer and have maintained it myself since then. I have a spreadsheet of the maintenance records and can email upon request.

Exterior-

Exterior is in overall good condition paint still shines. There is a small ding on the passenger rear door and some small scuffs on the front and rear bumpers (see photos). The running boards do have some damage from the previous owner who said his dogs scratched them up - most have had some big nails.

Interior-

Interior is also in good condition. Leather is in good condition throughout. Carpet is discolored in a few spots, may come out with some carpet cleaner but I never tried. The all weather lexus floor mats cover most of that up. The mats themselves are in good condition front and excellent condition rear. There is a very small rip in the passenger side door panel that was done when the seat belt got caught closing the door.

Electrical/Electronics-

Everything is in good working order. Mark Levinson system with 6 disc changer sounds great. Navigation has updated DVD. The PO installed aftermarket headrest DVD players, they work great and come with 2 headsets and a remote. I installed a Sears Platinum battery last year - still under warranty. New alternator was installed around the same time. Only small issue is that the antenna is slightly bent, still goes up and down fine though. I do have a new replacement just never put it in - will be included.

Suspension/Tires/Wheels-

Tires are Nitto terra grapplers size 275/65R18. These are slightly bigger than stock, gas mileage stayed the same and speedo is dead on. I changed all 5 tires and began rotating in the spare so all have even wear. Tires have ~ 23k miles on them.

Rims are in good condition. Some curb rash on a couple. The rim that was the originally in the spare location has some flaking, I assume this was from sitting there and not being cleaned off by the PO.

Suspension works fine, raises and lowers through all settings. All settings (Sport - Comfort) work well.

Undercarriage-

Undercarriage has some surface rust which is typical for my area - my 4runner has about the same amount. The front skid does have a spot with a bit more rust but is not bad enough that I felt the need to replace it.

Engine/Drivetrain-

No problems or issues. Regular maintenance only- oil changes, belts, etc..

No problems goes into 4lo fine and center diff lock works with no issues.

Common Questions:

Reason for Sale-

I searched for over 6 months for this LX and had intended to keep it forever but with the recent addition of child #3 my wife decided a minivan makes more sense. This has been her primary vehicle and while the kids fit comfortably it was hard for my wife to move around inside. If I could afford to keep it until the kids are a bit older I would, unfortunately that is not the case.

Owner History-

I am the 2nd owner. The previous owner had leased and then purchased.

Offroad Use-

No offroad use. It was driven on the beach about 3 times. Besides that it has been all road.

90k Maintenance-

Has not been performed.

Pricing-

My price is based on research over the past several months. I have looked at all the major pricing guides (NADA, KBB, Edmunds) as well as ebay, autotrader, craigslist, and dealers throughout the country. I feel that based on the mileage, condition, and history my asking price is fair.

Delivery/Shipping-

Unfortunately I do not have time to deal with shipping. If a buyer would like to arrange all shipping and have it picked up I could assist with loading. I could also arrange to pick you up from any of the 3 major airports in the area.

I have tried to accurately describe the vehicle and its condition. I encourage any potential buyer to come and inspect it. Also PPI’s are welcome at the buyers expense. Vehicle is sold as-is.

Thanks for looking.

very nice. price is fair too. wish you were closer!

I'll give you a bump and a couple of thoughts: Nice looking rig. Quite a bit more rust than my 97. On the price, based on what I've seen in the market over the last 6 months, I would suggest it's a bit high given the 90k service hasn't been done. It's more along the lines of what you'd see for a dealer price, not private party. For point of reference there is a 2006, LC, similar mileage and condition for sale on here and it's priced at 24k. Just my $0.02. Good Luck!

Real nice. Exactly like mine sans spoiler. Mine has chrome wheels, not necessarily a good thing. I agree with @Rookie2 a tad high. I paid 22.7 for mine with 121k but zero rust plus 90k service done and near new all terrains. GLWS though, be flexibility if at all possible, someone will grab it. Definitely a great rig.

Thanks for the bumps and the feedback.

The surface rust is just that - surface rust. It is quite common in areas that get their roads treated in the winter (even with frequent washing which I did). Didn't think I'd get this type of reaction over something I feel is very minor but since I have I will go ahead and fix it. I will update with new pictures.

As for the price I will respectfully disagree. Not sure how you can assess the value of a vehicle without seeing it, driving it, or viewing the complete service history which I have since new. Are there others similar trucks listed for less? Sure but I could also link to several that are more expensive. As I stated in my ad I came up with my price on many factors including book value which mine is priced under. Also the dealer pricing I am seeing is ~$2-4k higher than mine.

Potential buyers are welcome to contact me and discuss the price, the rust, or anything else.

froger, I'm in VA/MD/DC and I've probably done more searches for LX than anyone locally in the last week. I have found prices better than yours but they either have carfax issues or problems on their Lexus maintenance. As a prospective buyer, I never seriously considered your car at first glance. I was ready to drive to NJ, Ohio, NC even because there are deals that looks better on the surface. However, now that I made my rounds and thought about the hassle of going far, I definitely see value in your car. The only other thing close to your price and condition is the '06 at Pohanka Lexus right now at $25k - but that car is at 130k miles. Tack on another $1500 for 90k service and you can see why people here think you are asking at dealer prices. I think it is fair especially if it is as you described. I don't see you searching 6 months for it to abuse it during your ownership :)

Also, FWIW as a buyer I care much more about the timing belt service than the small amount of rust in the under carriage.

Another comparable vehicle to yours I'm looking at is the link above. His is White - my 1st color choice and 1 year newer with 30k more miles. For whatever reason, I tend to see White priced about 1-2K higher premium that other colors of similar specs. Supply & demand I guess.

I appreciate the feedback. I have tried to be as honest and upfront with my description as possible. I have been the buyer and gone to inspect vehicles that look good only to find issues that the owner was either hiding or did not know about. I choose this vehicle because the PO had it serviced every 5k with the Lexus records to prove it. I have continued to keep the service up to date along with doing a few extra things. I am very anal when it comes to my cars and this being my wife's vehicle I went above and beyond to make sure it was safe and reliable.

I would be willing to work with a buyer to get the 90k service done before selling.

Price Reduced - $26750 to allow new owner to get timing belt & water pump service completed.

BEAUTIFUL truck. I love the later year updates on the 100s. Look so much more modern then the 98/99

Why does the rear wipers on these, always sag??

Free Bump for a very nice LX. Just curious what you did to "fix" the surface rust? Also, nice E36 M3 in the garage?!

@RND1 thanks for the bump. Just got the e36 a few months ago 1st bimmer (coming from Porsche awhile ago) and I am loving it.

As for the rust I have not had a chance to fix it yet has been too cold but in the past I have had good success with POR15. The key is to prep the area correctly - take a wire brush to get any loose rust off and thoroughly clean and dry the area. I bought the kit from POR15 here which comes with everything needed.

Congrats on the E36 - I've had mine for a few years now and I love it. Came from an '84 911 that I unfortunately sold 15 years ago. But the M3 is a better car in every way except for maybe engine sound.

Thanks for the link to the POR15. I might have to take a look at that this Spring as I attack some undercarriage surface rust on mine. Wish you were closer, I'd sell my '03 to upgrade to your '06!

I'd do a partial trade for your '03 and meet you half way :)

I had an '81 & '86 911 that I sold about the same time I started having kids, really regret it now seeing how the air cooled market has exploded. I agree the M3 is great best thing about mine is 4-doors - would have been really difficult to drop the kids off at school in the 911.
