I purchased a 2006 Land Cruiser about a month ago from Austin Infiniti, which I believe is part of the same dealership group., and my buying experience was excellent. We agreed on a price, I flew down the next day, and drove my new-to-me 100 home a day after I agreed to purchase it.

There were a couple hiccups with the paperwork on account of me being an out-of-state buyer, but once I was able to talk to the right person, they went the extra mile to make it right. If you can buy it for what you consider to be a good price, I wouldn't let the fact that the seller is a dealership deter you.

I checked it out. Not a perfect truck, had clearly seen some use on a ranch. They had repainted the bumpers, were buffing out all of the scratches they could. Hood had some spots where bird s*** had sat for awhile. Dealer had put on new Yoko AT's and interior was pretty clean. No AHC. No evidence that T belt was done. Gold package and running boards would need to go ASAP.

I offered $23,800 they are firm at $24,995. With T belt service upcoming and the overall condition it still seems priced about right. No evidence of accident damage other that resprayed bumpers.

Tell them $23,800 including water pump and timing belt 90k service, bet they would do that deal.

Ive tried that with a couple dealers, all were not Toyota dealers, and they all declined hard, saying there is no way they would do the service.

One was even a LEXUS dealer...I am like, "the 470 is the same vehicle, I know you can do it". They passed on doing the service.

Had my friend whose a car broker call them about doing a deal, they are into the truck for a lot so that is pretty much the best price it seems.
Good truck, would be worth 1 or 2 k less from a private seller. I was very tempted but really want an 06 LX470 with a bit lower miles. I missed two under 28K with under 65K miles on them this past week. If you see an über low miles 06 LX in your search please let me know!

from carfax curious why they were doing the timing belt and waterpump at 60 K miles.

I think that the recommended timing belt service is 7 years or 90K miles.

I read the interval being 9 years. So this was done early based on miles and time as it was done in 2013.

Not that doing preventative stuff is bad but makes me scratch my head a little bit as it was 30K miles early and 2 years early. Does have lots of service records.

It's 7 years and or 90k miles. I had a 99 LC with 60k miles changed the Tbelt at 10 years and the belt and water pump needed to be changed. But it had spent it's life in Tucson AZ.

have been keeping an eye on this, if tb changed at dealer, then why no sticker indicating that, hmmmmm.

I've never had one with a sticker. I do have the 90k mile service records from the Las Vegas Lexus dealership that shows they changed the timing belt and water pump. I would check the Lexus/Toyota records

Not sure where you guys are getting the 7 year thing.
This is the maintenance recommendation book from my 2006 lexus lx470 and it is the same in my 2005 uzj100. 108 months or 90 K

I think it is great for someone that the timing belt service is done but it just seemed odd being done ahead of time for no apparent reason.

You are right. Looks like Toyota changed their recommended 90K service which includes the timing belt service from 6 years to 9 years sometime between model years 2003 and 2004. They also increased all of their time-based recommendations by 50% - for example, the 30K service changed from 24 months to 36 months.

I actually thought that it was 7 years for the older models, but I do not remember where I saw that at.

I assume that the dealer or customer decided to have the service done because they were going by the old schedule.
