I recently picked up a 2006 GX470 non-nav with a blown head gasket. (radiator hose split and engine must've gotten hot) It could have cracked head, but maybe just a blown head gasket as it is blowing white smoke out the exhaust. I can do a leak down test to help identify the bad bank. I've had two 100 series in the past and know that these 2uz are good motors. I've had several cruisers over the years since I purchased my first FJ40 back in Wyoming in 1996

206,000 miles on it.

If I replace the engine or replace the head gasket, it would get the same treatment of new water pump, timing belt, seals, and valve cover gaskets at least.

After addressing the engine, build a rear bumber and toss on a lift Take it out to idaho and use it at our cabin with hopefully a run down to Moab once a year
