I want to put BF Goodrich AT's on my LC but tire selector guide tells me none will fit. Stock OEM wheel size is P275/60R18 111H.

Do I need new wheels and if so can someone point me in the right direction as to what size wheel will fit on the 2006 and allow a 33 inch tire (if this is even possible).

Others have gone with BFG AT/KO 285/65R18 on their stock suspension. They are 33" in diameter.

Wanting to do the same thing.. post back to the forum if you decide to do it!

I just don't want any rubbing, even with the adjustable suspension set to L.

I read somewhere that 275 is the widest you can go... No?

Btw, if you used the OEM 16" LC rims, what tires size would you be able to fit? Are they all the same offset and bol pattern?

My Tire guy tells me the AT's are quite noisy. Is my better half going to have a fit with the new ride

IMO, they are louder but not "loud" in a 100... maybe though when they are worn down 50%. Another tire that is quieter and comes in that same size is the Toyo Open Country AT or the Nitto Terra Grappler.

If you dont mention you got new tires she might not even notice. Noise difference is minimal, at least with the BFG ATs on a 100.

Get Michelin AT's they are quiet compared to the BFG's. I had BFG AT's on one of my LC's, great long wearing tires but they are louder then M&S's and the Michelins are the best compromise when it comes to noise. The Michelins AT's are also great tires but they are $$$ :)

C'mon, surely you can find something better then the BF A/T??? The tread design and composite of this tyre hasn't changed in over 20 odd years. Do your cruiser justice and find something that really works.

Go with 265/65R18...31.5" x 10.7 compared to 31.0 x 10.7 for OEM. 285/65R18 and 175/65R18 are both over 32".

265/65R18's are 31.5-31.7" depending on the maker, so your speedo error should be half that of the 275/65R18's. (IIRC, the goodyear wrangler silent armor 265/65R18's are 31.5, which would put your speedo off by 1.6%). I find my OEM 275/60R18's are less than 1% off in distance (gps read 529mi, odo read 533 mi, 0.75% optimistic) on a recent trip segment.

Seems like a great selection in the 275/65/18 size and it looks a little beafer. Plus 32" is nothing for the LX to handle why do recommend the 265/65/18's?

If it's for the wifey take a look at the Mich LTX M/S. Wears like iron, quite ride, factory siping. Capable in mild off road conditions. Costco's got them right now $80 of a set of 4. They have the A/T's as well.

Ran the M/S on my Tacoma for 80k and sold them with the truck at about half of their tread life.

I'm in the same boat. My '04 with 18" wheels has old Duelers on it (OE, I believe). I've been dealing with the same issues - would prefer to keep a 60-series but go 285 over the 275.

I'm leaning towards the BFG A/Ts - 285/65R18s. I have A/Ts on my 80-series and have loved them. Stick in most situations and they really aren't that loud in my experience. I also like the sidewall support/strength.

My only question (which didn't matter as much on the 80-series 7 years ago): what's it going to do to my mileage?! (yes - I know it's a V-8, AWD, etc... but I'm *just curious*).

Any pics out there of stock 100series w/18" wheels that have the 285/65 18s?

Thanks,
-JBro

To keep the odometer/speedo as accurate as possible and gearing as close to stock. The odometer is very accurate w/ the stock sized 275/60R18's. On a recent run, my GPS measured 529 mi, odometer measured 534 mi.
