How much over trade-in would you go?

On a vehicle like this, I think $500 dealer profit is appropriate. Remember you have to add the CPO costs (which may also be negeotiable).yahtzee said:How much over trade-in would you go?

I happen to like the look of the white without the "trim"; of course your mileage may vary. In the end, you should buy the Cruiser you can get the best deal on (when condition and price are considered). For the price your willing to pay, you should be able to find a really nice one - I wouldn't limit it to just these two.

In the end, it would have been worth the $600 trip to the dealer, (and saved me ridicule from wifey and kids), but not worth the $2.5K extended warranty I was offered 2 years ago.

Fully loaded includes side curtain airbags, roof rack, Rear DVD and the towing package.
40k miles later and the thing runs as good as the day I bought it.
Two weeks ago I had to drive over 50 miles in a blinding snowstorm that dumped 12" in about four hours.
I can't tell you how gratifying it was to drive up my steep unplowed driveway without blinking an eye.
This is my second LC (previous was a '98) and I wouldn't own anything else.

The Pkg B was an upgrade from A consisting of two tone paint and the fender flares for about $1200. Pkg A came with lots of stuff; carpeted mats, cargo mat, cargo net, glass break sensor, fabric guard, signal mirros, etc. along with several non-tranferable warranties (tires, roadside, hazard). Gulf States (Houston) has a bad reputation for loading up their Toyotas throughout the 5 state area with "optional" port packages. Both customers and dealers are stuck.
In Arkansas, one can go to Memphis or Springfield to check out Toyotas in two other regions. When I was in Texas, it was a pain... stuck (or pay to travel).
Most new LCs from GST are loaded to within about $2-3K of the LX, some are more than LX. The LX dealers are not burdened with all those GST packs. I think Toyota would sell a lot more LCs if they did not insist on including the "optional" NAV on them (or is that also a GST thing?...)
