I found a 2004 Tacoma 4x4 for sale and wanted to know people's opinions on what price would be fair. It only has 43k, extended cab, TRD, Elock diff, automatic, topper w/ bed rug. It has been smoked in and has some burns in the seat. Not a huge deal to me but may be a good bargaining chip. I would love to hear what people would think is a fair price.
Thanks

16-18k
That's the last year of that popular bodystyle.
Low mileage + huge demand = great resale value

Great trucks, I have 255K on mine and runs like a top. Had a egr issue the last smog check, but I am in Ahole CA. I would say 15 to 18K depending on total condition.

At that price you can get a second gen tacoma. I would say $10-12K. If it was in mint condition with some upgrades maybe $15K. My 2 cents.

Very true. I know several people that upgraded to 2nd gens, built them, and decided to go back to the smaller 1st gens. I prefer the 1st gen myself. That truck would be gone in minutes if listed in WA for 12k. All 4wds and diesels are overpriced here in WA. Then again, most 1st gens have well over 100k miles.

Those that prefer a 1st gen are going to pay a premium for the low mileage TRD 4wds.

I definitley prefer the 1st gen vs the 2nd gen. Just something about those fender arches on the 2nd gen rubs me wrong. I have been talking to the dealer and it sounds like they are sticking to their guns at the $18.5 price. Guess they are looking to hit a homerun on it.

Where is it located?

It looks like it is already gone. Was in Boulder, CO last I checked. I think Larry Miller Toyota

Bummer - I'm wondering where these people are finding 2004's with under 50K miles for 13K. Most I've been finding are 15-18 for 100K and 13 will get you 130-150k

I know. I've been tossing back and forth a 2000 100 seris or a 2004 Tacoma. There is another one in Niwot. Private owner w/ only 43k. Asking $16,800. I can't scoop it up until I sell my 2005 Jeep Unlimited first. Check boulder CL

I've got a 2004 Extra Cab Taco TRD 4WD w/ 87K miles. I've been kicking around selling mine. Glad to see they're holding value well, and good luck with your search!

I was talking to a toyota salesman the other day (ya', I know, real solid source), cause I was thinking of a 4runner V-8. I commented on how the second gen taco's are too expensive used to justify not buying new, he said the taco had the highest retained value of any vehicle right now. I'd believe it from what I've seen on the 1-3 year old ones, expecially the double cabs. I just prefure the look and size of the 1st gen.

I'm also in the same boat in North Carolina. Looking for a double cab with around 100K miles under $13K. :bang::bang: Its like finding a needle in a stack of needles. Dealer prices are ridiculous. 3rd gen 4runners are a dime a dozen, but I need the bed. The best one I'm looking at now is an 04 with 176k miles for $11,900, about 6 hours from me.:censor:

I have on '02 Taco Xtra Cab, V6, 5 speed. 108,xxxin NC that I'll be listing on mud this weekend around $8000
