122K - Got the xfer case and rear diff oil swapped today. Did the oil change yesterday. Rear diff oil was rough. Bet it was original.

That could be any random tacoma. ;)

I believe I have found the culprit on the increased temperatures. Someone, at some time, installed the wrong thermostat. They probably found the right size and said "oh hell, this is good enough."

Extra credit if you can tell what is missing?

I figured it through the interwebs. Someone was having the EXACT issue - temperatures very precise, everything was good, but consistently running 204 - 212 degrees vs 190 to 200. His thermostat was installed incorrectly, but he had the right one.

Jingle valve missing?

Yes - Dude put in a non jiggle valve. Hoping this does the trick. Saw a guy who installed it upside down and the truck ran exactly like mine is running about 12 degrees hotter.

@weejub you need to update your signature, again.

Yea . . Tundra heads to Colorado Springs on July 24th.

Love the truck. It's by far the best model, color combo.

Did the girl from the M&G end up getting the truck?

Yes - She and her husband bought it. :)

Nothing special here. No crazy builds gonna happen. Wanna keep it close to stock.

Famous last words.

Stock for now, but . . .

Gotta redo the suspension, it is kinda shot. PO put Bilstein 5100 shocks front/back, but I don't think he did new coils up front and I am sure the leafs are old.

Ordered the CS046RA/B - Old Man Emu Complete Rear Springs with Bushings for the back end.

Going to put on the 5-star wheels I saved from my Son's 4Runner and some 32" 265/75R16 KO2's.

Not sure what I am going to do with the front - - prolly just swap the coils to the OME 880's.

Would like a topper and hate the tonneau cover. Would love to just use it as a truck and remove the tonneau and leave it. Wife likes the tonneau thing.

Are you thinking like soft topper or camper shell? Craigslist about a week ago there were a few shells and I think a bestop

Did that chic from colorado buy your tundra?

So many acronyms in the title

Yes :) Well it will be her Husband's truck - she had the duty to test drive it and check it out :)

camper shell, maybe. many short bed 2nd gen for sale, not finding many/any 1st Gen.

i am having to fight urges to do too much here. i really just want a little truck bed to let the dog ride in, to pick up mulch or gravel, etc. would like to keep it as close to stock as possible.

all said - - I did order a small lift - will do 1-2" front and 2-2.5" on the back.

My buddy said the same thing he’s got a spacer in the front and an add a leaf in the back he’s taking out because the back sat to high even with his dog kennel in the bed.

It’s been on and off I hit a streak last month where all I could find was 1gen which was good cuz I would have bought it now I’m leaning towards making a removal bed rack. For the reason you said earlier I want to be able to take the dog out and her ride in the bed and still go get loads of gravel and mulch and misc.
