First I will admit I have a problem. So far I have had 2 99 LC's (Both totaled) and still have a 99LX.
I went to look at an AWD sedan on Saturday for a commuter car and ended up coming home with a 2004 LC.
We took a road trip Sunday and I cannot get the back screen to come on. I can watch the movie on the front screen but i cant even get the back screen to power up and show any picture.
An idea where to start? It is the stock JBL system with disk changer in the center console.

I am also looking to get the integration to connect my Iphone so we can listen to Itunes. I did the uprade on my old 99 but in this instance, I do not want to use the DVD port since my kids want to watch movies.
Can anyone recommend or provide a link for a product that will work?
Can I use the Satelite port instead of DVD?

Ok ,I found a unit to connect the Iphone.

Now I have the still un-answered stupid question regarding the drop down video screen.
Does it power up automatically when you open it.
I can see on the headunit itself that it says the back screen is off but cant find anywhere in Owners Manual or on head unit to turn it on.
Someone out there has to have a 2004 with the DVD system.

I cannot help you on this, but can you share the link for the phone cable thing you bought?

I Ordered the GROM TOYNU3 directly from Grom.
Here is the link:

Ordered Monday and USPS shows it should deliver today. I will update once I get it installed and confirmed it works for my application.

As far as the monitor goes. I really just want to know if it turn on automatically when you open it or if there is something on the head unit.

I don't see that you have a problem, just good decision making! That's coming from someone who is about to purge the last non-cruiser from his fold and buy either an '04 - '07 LX470 in the near future.
Thanks for sharing about the GROM, most likely will be needing that after purchase. Would like to hear how you like it.

I'm saving that website.
Let us know how that thing turns out, how to install, power wire etc.

I just wanted to bet back on here and confirm that this GROM unit is the proper until for a 2004 with JBL NAV/DVD system.
Installation is easy. You literally remove the the trim on dash, remove the 4 screws, unplug the bottom left wire, plug that into the GROM unit and plus the wire you removed from stereo into the other wire on the GROM unit.
Have to give GROM props as I IM'd them just to be sure I was doing it right and they stayed online with me the whole time.

Now if I could only figure out why the stupid video screen wont power up so I don'd have to hear the kids ask about it all the time.

Thank you for reporting back.

The nav screen will not control the rear screen. Do you have the remote? Check that the DVD player in the passenger side 3rd row has power going to it. There are inline fuses under the glove box, stick your head down there and look up under the dash you'll see them.
