I've been dealing with this intermittent problem with my driver's side headlight of the truck since I've had it and it originally had regular halogen headlights but since I have replaced with a good quality led comparable and have continued to have a issue of the light turning off randomly while driving or sitting parked and then coming back on after some random amount of time. The light turning off seems to be unrelated to bumps of any kind on the road but I've found that if it does turn off and I get out and give the headlight lense a good punch they will come back on most of the time. Ive replace the fuses and redone the spade end of the wire that goes to the bulbs since the plastic was cracking on the original. Recently the passenger light has been going out more frequently and for longer periods of time. I've redone connections, used dielectric grease, done fuses, and have good headlights. Thoughts? (Pictured: when the light goes off it's not fully off but just dim)

It might be the bulbs, do you have the same problem running halogen?
Yes, originally when I was running halogen bulbs this problem had started on the driver side, same deal where I could give it a quick hit and it would come back on, and I had thought at the time I may just be buying bad bulbs and had got sick of replacing them so I got these LEDs (pretty expensive ones too) for the ji and low beams and the hi beams work great but the lows continued to have this weird intermediate problem and now the passenger side has started too with increased frequency.

You're not alone. My 2000 LX is doing the same thing with the same variables. Went from a halogen that appeared to be going out to Auxito LED from Amazon, and now the driver side bulb is going out randomly like yours. I'm going to order some Philips VisionPlus halogens from Amazon overnighted to see if this corrects the problem (or at least improves the flicker). People have been pulling to the side for me to pass, so I gotta do something.

On my 2004 the female spade connector and last half centimeter of wire to the bulb was cooked on both headlights, and the connector had a loose fit on the bulb spade. Crimping a new connector on fixed it although there’s not a lot of slack to work with.

Wiggle the positive wire to the bulb and see if it makes the lamp flicker.

It was a corroded green wire/connector that connects to the lamp. I could see it was hanging on by a thread, and when I went to pull it off it broke completely.

Hopefully you can strip and crimp a new right angle female spade connector on the wire that remains. You'll need a flag terminal crimping tool as well.
I've redone all my connections for both headlights and redone all the grounds in the engine bay, problem still persists. I've even tried to scuff up the housing and plate on the bulb that makes the ground connection with some steel wool and they appeared to be better for about a day or so then went right back to the same problem. Now it also seems hitting the lens has less of a chance to turn the bulb back on.

having similar issue - a week ago my driver side halogen stopped working. its not come back on since. For sake good order i replaced the bulb yesterday - though i could NOT see that it had blown -> new bulb still not working. Checked the fuse in main box under hood - they are not blown. Any one have any clues what could be up?
