I purchase a new (used) 2004 LX 470. It's great. Everything seems to be working fine, except the power folding mirrors. Both the Driver's and Passenger fold in, but they do not fold back out. In fact, there is nothing that keeps them out. Like the detent is gone, worn out. Even shutting the doors moves them in a little. The fact that both of them leads me to think it may be the switch. But again, the switch works to fold them in. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Instead of trouble-shooting, just go gun-shooting route :p. Buy a switch and try...

You can take the switch out and examine it. I could see I had a solder drop off and my mirrors wouldn’t fold back out either. I couldn’t get a new solder to stick, so I ended up buying a new switch for like $250 from the dealer. Pricey, but I get my money’s worth by obnoxiously folding the mirrors every chance I get.

can I see a pic of this mirror switch please? I'm wondering if I this vehicle has a "mirror control relay" or if it part of one of the ECUs. I'd love a diagram of the mirror folding system.

I'm out of town right now, but when I get back I will post it.
