Hi,

I did some searching, but many of the results were too technical for me. I need to top off the coolant in my 2004 LC. Pep boys sold me "Peak Red/Pink Phosphate-Enhanced Organic Acid Technology for use in: ... Toyota 1990 and up"

On the back of the jug, its says it's "free of silicate, nitrite and amines which is fully compatible with other extended life coolants" The owners manual says use "ethylene glycol based non-silicate, non-amine, non-nitrite and non-borate coolant with ... hybrid organic acid technology." The descriptions seem pretty close--the stuff I have says (i) enhanced organic acid technology" instead of "hybrid organic acid technology" and (ii) is silent about whether it has "borate."

I'm worried mainly about compatibility and not doing damage to my cooling system. I live in Southern California so there's no freezing temperatures and very rarely extremely high temperatures.

Can I use the stuff I bought?

Thanks in advance!!!

It's fine but everyone here will tell you it's gonna wreck your engine because all the forum jockeys are smarter than chemists
