I need help with an a/c problem on an 04 J100. The max setting works as it is supposed to,but any setting above max blowes hot air. I would assume that the problem lies in the airflow direction as the compressor is still engaged, pressures are fine ,etc. The A/C icon on the screen will not light, except when touched, will flash on 1 time ,every time it is touched. Is there a relay some where that controls this function, or does anyone have another idea /experience? i have been an accomplished mechanic for over 30 years, but am new to toyota, but rapidly becoming a fan. These cars do a wonderful job of bringing my guys back safe & sound from the badlands here in Iraq, even with all the armor and gear that they carry on a daily basis. Being armored, rolling the windows down is not an option, and in 110+ degree Heat, it gets miserable very quickly inside the cars.Help-Anybody??

Had the same problem on a 2001 HDJ100 (TDI), also in the ME.
It was the ECU (Electronics box) controlling the AC/heating system which had been disconnected when dealer installed a radio & in-dash CD-changer.
Fixed by dealer pulling out the radio and pushing the ECU connector back in.

Have a look under the radio.
