2004 gx470 ahc

Hello,
I received a 2004 GX470 from a friend. All serviced were done from the dealership. 107k miles, all highway miles. timing belt, serpentine belt, WP have been changed and new LTX tires.

Please help this is my 1st GX470:
1) The rear DVD does not play when you insert the disc. I followed the instruction in the owners manual. the player will "Disc Check" then nothing happens. What could be the problem?

2) How would i know if the AHC is working? It is in Neutral. Also, I noticed at night that the shift lever indicator is not illuminated so as the AHC control?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

The AHC only works below a certain speed and only for the rear. If you hit it, it will flash for a time then show L or H for low or high. You can visually see the difference. If you go over a certain speed it will automatically go back to normal.

DVD: The radio has to be on and the screen has to be down. If you take the remote and hit "DVD" it will start the disc if it does not automatically go to the menu. If it doesn't work by doing this something is wrong.

Pull the emergency brake while parked and push the DVD button on your console. It will bring up the movie and menu on the front screen. Makes working with the DVD player easier.

There is a mod for making the front screen think the emergency brake is on all the time if you do a quick search.
