What the trick to pulling off the shifter handle from the tranny? Last time I tried I depressed the silver metal center and turn turned the handle counter clockwise. I ended up breaking the shifter handle! What's the proper proceedure on 87hj60? Thx

Sorry to break it to you.. but that's not an H55F in the first pic.
More like an R150 or something.

glad I wasn't the first on to call him out. I thought it was a h151 at first glance but after looking closer its the r151.
Any history on the engine/tranny? If it came from a mine truck, 2400 hrs in 4 low floored doesn't do much for longevity.

I need a H55 for my 1HZ because its going into my forty. You can take my name off the list for it.

You can buy a new 2H/2F input H55F from your favorite Toyota dealer in the US
$2300 ish
buy the 1HZ input shaft for $310 and have em swap it in for you.
Got one through Cabe Toyota this spring, they charged 1hr to swap the shaft in.

Or you can get the H55 with correct input shaft for the 1HZ directly from Toyota as well.

...even in the US.

:)

Cool... what part number? Price?
I ran 33030-60850 and 33030-60890 which are the 2 only numbers for HZJ7 H55F on the North American and Japan EPC and neither come up on the US System.

You had me excited for a second there...
Until I ran the number
R151F tranny.webp

Ya, I think we did try ENS just for the hell of it and a new 1HZ H55F tranny was something wack like $6000

What it really are is a R151, check the description side of the EPC screen capture I posted.
And the R151 is a pretty marginal tranny behind a 1HZ in my opinion... behind a turbo 1HZ or 1HD-T, forget it.

No, I saw the description indeed. And I agree. I would rather do an H tranny before an R tranny. R's work nice behind 4 cylinder vehicles. I would not use it for a heavy duty application.

as i sent you in your KIJIJI ad, that is not a H55F (and as mentioned by others here)
AFAIK the H55F ended in 1998, Sheldon, am i correct in that statement?

Ya.. ish.. depends on market. General market HZJ7 changeover to R151 tranny shows
Aug of 99 for what it's worth

I'm looking for that part # also. I have a few more sources to try. If I get it I will be happy to pass it along.

The r151 came in at $1800...not really that bad but I already have 3 of them I'm not using.
