Please all you experienced people can you give me opinion about this Cruiser seller last price is $9200, seller says A doctor who owned it before him said got done 90k maintance at 119k, he bought it with 129k but does that not have paper work to prove that and i am from midwest suppose i do buy the truck what precaution should i take as in paper work since its my first time buying off craiglist wil i have to prove something when i bring the car to my state so that i can register it please i really need your advice on everything about this truck

Presuming you are buying the car in cash you should be receiving the a title for the vehicle. If they cannot produce a title for the vehicle or it is not their name on it I would stay away. Where is the truck originally from? Request photographs of the underside to check for rust. Are there any maintenance receipts at all? Run a carfax and see what comes up.
 
Yes i will be buying the car in cash truck originally form Iowa seller did email me the VIN number but i have not got chance to run a carfax as that cost $40 i been looking for people with multiple car fax access in that way i can pay them small amount of fee and get the carfax
 
Unless you are planning on going there, looking at it in person and having a PPI done, I would not buy a car from Florida from a distance. The laws are setup to protect the seller. I had a friend do this, had a dealer perform a PPI who signed off and sad it was good. He shipped it to TX and it needed many thousands of dollars of work. He talked to an attorney and had no recourse legally because of how the FL laws are.
 
Couple of thoughts: If there is no paperwork and no sticker in the engine compartment, you'll have to assume the timing belt needs changing. If you can't afford the $40 for a Carfax, you may have to think about whether you can afford a Land Cruiser's maintenance and repair costs. All used vehicles need something! I agree with @arcteryx that remotely buying from an individual without looking at it in person can be risky. Are you planning to go to Florida to pick it up?
 
$40 is cheap insurance when buying a used vehicle. $10 more and you can get 5 reports since you're in the market anyway.:meh:
 
@arcteryx Yes i am flying there for a vacation since Midwest Indiana is too cold there is always a risk buying used cars as we buy AS IS looks like your friend wanted to sue the seller after getting the car, since i am going myself there i will have a better look of it but i will have to look for someone honest doing the PPI , plus there is an article about buying cars from FL: http://dor.myflorida.com/dor/tips/pdf/tip08a01-04.pdf

@Ali FJ80 Thank you that was exactly what i was looking for instead of paying $40 just paying $7 for the same thing makes sense

@Sandroad Yes i am going to fly there, And no its never about ''NOT AFFORDING THE CARFAX'' its about being open to different option one can get for a cheaper and just like ALI FJ80 suggested i hope it makes sense now why would i pay $40 for the same thing while its available for $7 from a different source? oh btw as affording is concerned, i am a life guard at a baby swimming pool;)

@LEX hell yea bro $40 is cheap insurance for buying a used car lol already having 5 cars sitting outside my garage door i am barely in the market after getting LC i am done. unless you in the market and know people i will get the 50 dollars and will sell 4 reports for 10 each lol

My 01 has held up very well, and is very well maintained. Has had both exhaust manifolds & one computer replaced under TSB. If you can verify no rust, no accidents, all maintenance (PM) done, good tires then looks like good price. Don't buy rust, reduce your offer for anything needed, missing PM or not verified (talk is worthless).
