Hey fellow 100 series lovers. This is my first post here so if I am doing this wrong please let me know. I ordered factory shock absorbers for my 2000 TLC
(Front shocks 48511-69585 ) (rear shocks 48531-69835) from Ourisman Toyota, I noticed in the description that the front absorbers do not include retainers, I am trying to figure out if I need to order retainers for the front and if this is the case, will I need 1 or 2 per absorber? Thanks in advance!

You will need to order bushings washers and nuts. Toyota shocks come bare bones.

This is good to know, I was unaware of this. Will I need the retainers for the front shock absorbers? And I am just wondering if each absorber requires 1 or two if any at all, thanks this is my first time tackling any suspension work since ownership

Go to partsouq.com and enter the vin and search the parts diagrams so you can see what exactly needed to mount each shockabsorber. if you have time 4-5 days, order at partsouq.com and get it shipped via Fedex to your door in 4 to 5 days from Dubai UAE. Many of us buy parts from them and is 100% legit. I use paypal to pay. Have purchased more than $6K worth items in the pasyt 10+ years

Its been a while since I replaced my shocks, but I'm pretty sure its 4 retainers per side for the front shocks. 2 retainers above the upper shock mount on top/bottom of upper cushion and pretty sure same setup below the upper shock mount, 2 retainers top/bottom of lower cushion.

I just went and looked to be sure but its almost impossible to see exactly what's all there below the upper shock mount.

Edit: add photos upper is first pic and second is best I could get for area below the shock mount

Thanks!

Are you converting an AHC suspension to a non-AHC suspension, just replacing OE (non-AHC) shocks, or reverting from aftermarket shocks, back to OE shocks?

If you’re replacing old OE shocks, with new OE shocks, just reuse the existing “shock retainers” (4 washers at each corner).

If you have a "2000 TLC" there is no need to buy retainer/washers. Just re-use what you take off, paying attention to how and where they came off - front or rear. They are indestructible. Clean them up and/or paint them if you wish.
