I bought this in May of 2020 right when the pandemic hit. Someone hit me in my 2013 Honda Pilot, totaled it, and I wanted a tank. I purchased this from a forum member.

He or someone prior to him had mods installed, and recent service records. Allegedly this LC rode the Trans America trail from someone prior to the owner I bought it from.

I set about learning how to wrench and started several threads (feel free to look at my posting history) as I set about baselining. I never updated my baselining thread, whoops.

Why Selling:

I am selling because we were going to take this on a 5+ week road trip last fall out to Moab, and literally the night before we left the ball joint on the driver's SPC arms went out as I was on my way back from the dealer getting the brake fluid flushed (receipt in above links). I posted here and was told it was unsafe to drive for all the correct reasons, and we ended up taking my wife's Santa Fe instead. SPC arms have been replaced and this is good to go.

Not a lot of offroading in my near future, so time to pass it on to someone else to enjoy.

Mods:
  • ARB front bumper
  • Warn 10,000 lb winch (steel cable)
  • Safari Snorkel
  • ARB air compressor (was mounted in engine bay, I removed, but still have and will include in sale)
  • IPF spotlights
  • Wired for dual battery setup (via KlausVonWinkle’s write upon the FAQs) with additional outlet located in the rear, but when I bought it the 2nd battery was dead and I ended up not doing a fridge setup, so I remove old battery and left wiring in place
  • Old Man Emu 2.5” lift with 865 springs and SPC UCAs
  • Roof rack delete.
  • Previous owner told me it has a rear e-locker installed from a ‘99
  • 285/75R16 BFG KO2 A/Ts (incl. full size spare) with <13000 miles on them, tire date codes are from 2018.
  • Sony WX-900BT headunit. Works great. Will occasionally forget my phone and require re-pairing via Bluetooth.
  • LED bulbs in interior lights. The rear dome light flickers a bit.

Major maintenance (see above documents for full maintenance list and photos of invoices):
  • By previous owner:
    • 231,755 Miles
      • Oil and filter
      • Toyota front brake pads
      • Toyota front rotors and calipers
      • Rack and pinion
      • Outer tie rods
      • Brake and power steering fluid
      • New wheel bearings
      • Rear pads, rotors, and calpiers
      • Drive belt
      • Denso spark plugs
      • Denso starter and intake gasket
      • Right front CV axle
    • When owner sold me vehicle (~241k miles) he claimed timing belt, radiator, water pump had all been done less than ~10,000 miles prior as part of his preparations to take this to Baja, but I do not have receipt of this.
      • I can confirm there is a Denso radiator installed, and I spoke to the shop that did all of his work when I purchased the vehicle and they confirmed the other work, but I do not have a receipt to give you.
      • It would make sense that while they were doing all of the other work that this would have been performed at the same time, but I can’t find a receipt and I the only sticker on the plastic engine cover is from 2006 (and 108,000 miles). I doubt a timing belt would last 17 years and 140,000 miles but wanted to disclose what I know.
  • Under my ownership, mostly DIY (full list including invoices and dates in the Google Drive link above):

One more bump and price drop before I try the auction sites. Let me know if you have any questions or want to make an offer.

Update if it sells or not. I'm very interested. I have a sale on my GX470 pending me finding a replacement.
