The woman wanted a new truck, so after a couple of months of searching, I bought an '11 LX570 today. That means my '00 LX470 needs to go. It's got plenty of life left in it, and I hope to find it a good home.

2000 LX-470, approximately 207K miles (199K indicated due to oversize tires), $10K
Purchased new May 2000 in NJ. I bought it in December 2004 with 48K miles in PA and it has lived in Alabama and Texas ever since. Very minor surface rust on chassis, a couple very small bubbles under rear hatch that have been there, unchanged, since 2004. I am not even concerned about any of it.

I have done all of the maintenance IAW the shop manual, usually IAW the Special Operating Conditions schedule except for synthetic engine oil which I usually run to 10K miles with periodic analysis. All fluids always synthetic, always Mobil 1 and the larger M-209 filter. Extended life coolant. Differentials, brakes, transfer case, AHC, tranny always changed IAW schedule. Most recent Blackstone Labs oil analysis March 15 available if requested.

Timing belts changed at ~90K miles and again at 180K miles. The last one included water pump, cam seals, crank seals. Also did the AHC fluid, and brake fluid at that time (180K miles - AUG 14).

Those of you who know your LX/LC are wondering by now about the transmission. Well, I was one of the unlucky ones. I had a Toyota Remanufactured transmission installed at 155K miles, September 2012. Hated it then, but it should be a big plus for the next owner.

Doug Thorley headers. Bridgestone Revo 285s with about 40 K miles (got 65K on the last set), Husky Liners, 3rd row seats, CB and antenna, XM radio.

Front wheel bearings (OEM) and front brake rotors (OEM) and pads (Duralast Gold Lifetime), inner CV boots, all done OCT 11, 140K miles. Rear rotors (OEM) and pads (Duralast Gold) April 12, 151K.

What I worry you won't like: just developed a crack on driver's seat in the past two months. Driver's arm rest is rough. Even though I applied conditioner once a year, I do a lot of hunting and mountain biking and I think the sweat and bug juice took it's toll on the leather. Truck has been lightly 'wheeled. There are some Texas pinstripes and some marks on the running boards.

Also worry that Carfax will show accident. That was a recent light hit on the front bumper. The advantage to the buyer is that I replaced the front and the rear bumper covers and they look awesome.

What I am confident in: The engine, the tranny, the brakes, the tires, the running gear, the body. This truck is mechanically very healthy and set to run another 100K miles easy.

I've been part of this forum since 2004. Ask me whatever questions you want, you'll get the straight answer. If you have a specific photo you'd like taken, let me know.

Thanks - to be clear, it is now $10K. I'm not in any hurry to sell, but am surprised I've received no serious offers. I may put the 570 in storage and drive this a couple more years...

Only reasons I can think of that might be keeping the offers away is what is keeping me from offering:

1) NJ birthplace, rust as shown, although not too bad...any rust sucks
2) LX instead of LC = AHC which can be a pain in the ass
3) The color - I can't get over the "grandma gold" factor

Hopefully someone else can see past these (or doesn't see them at all) and pick up what seems to be a well cared for truck. If it were KBB priced ($6-$7k) I would be more inclined to look past but I understand that is a hard pill to swallow after investing so much over the years.

Thanks - understand all. FWIW - the Grandma(!) Gold is PERFECT if you hunt over a golden retriever! My new track has a black interior and the fur everywhere is killing me!

As for KBB, I might feel the same way if I were on the buyer's side. However, unlike the KBB "model", this truck has a transmission with less than 50K miles on it and a recent oil analysis that should mitigate any risk regarding engine condition. Add headers that mitigate the known issue of exhaust manifold cracks and a replaced throttle body, I think it outscores KBB.

Rust. Yup, understand. It really does look worse in the pics than it really is, but I wanted to ensure full disclosure of condition. What surface rust is there has been there with very little change for the 11 years I've owned it. I wouldn't know why it would start to accelerate for a new owner.

Again, thanks for the comments. It is valuable to know what others are thinking.

All great counterpoints! I did not take into account a newer transmission, headers, throttle body, and oil analysis. I would definitely hold out for a higher number. GLWS!

Congrats on the sale - based on our email communication, I can only imagine the buyer got a great deal on a well described and honestly presented truck.
