Are you the guy who sold his 200 for a G550? How are you liking the G? I saw some specs on the new release that is going to shed some serious weight and add 4" width for the MY18.

Think so, not sure if someone else did the same. Honestly, if the LC 200 came triple locked, I would think it was the better car out of the gate. G is certainly more difficult and more expensive to mod.

Nice truck! Not sure what the hate is for the OEM 21" wheels though - I actually think they look great on the LX and fit the overall style pretty well. In fact, they're not too different than the 21" option on my daily...if I'm being honest I think it looks better on the LX (which is why I went the 19" wheels I guess on mine!):

I agree, those wheels look good on the LX and let's be serious, the LX is more for the on road, taking the kids to school and mall trips. You buy the LC for the adventure and the LX for business, family trips in comfort.

Yep, I thought so. How do you deal without having real cup holders? Have you upgraded the suspension? Eibach springs wih Fox shocks is a popular choice.

I call foul on your G...

Reminded of the song on Seseme Street decades ago that went,

"One of these things is not like the other...
One of these things just isn't the same...
One of these things is not like the other...
Come on, now...let's play our game..."

Shovel...Maxtrax...and STREET TIRES.
Which one of these doesn't belong? ;)

Yah, those are 32 inch Goodyear Kevlar Adventure AT's... sort of docile looking aren't they? The G550 came with 29-30 inch Kuhmo tires (lol). I would have gotten BFG KO's, but they didn't make them in the size I wanted when they first started rolling out last year.

How has the maintenance cost been

How reliable has it been

Any window regulators go out yet

Around here G550 is rare, since everyone has a G63 or G65

LOL! That is the one thing that has plagued the G for years. Funny you mentioned that.

It's a 2015, so not issues with reliability yet. It's a company lease for 4 years, after which time I buy it from MBUSA, and they extend the warranty to 100K miles.

Did you do a before/after to see actual gain in clearance?

With the Eibach shocks and Koni Raids, I think I gained 1.5 inches in the front and 2.5 in the rear. It would be higher, but the Koni's are not nitro charged, which generally adds about 1/2 I think.

I ran a 35" tire on my G350TD.

The lockers were very nice, the trucks biggest problem was it's weight.

Loved my 200 so much I got my wife a 2016 LX 570. First order of business was to get her some nice AT and off those horrible 21 inch rims!

1. Went to Wilsonville Toyota in OR, and they had four TRD Pro 18 rims with 10 miles on them for $300. = D

2. Some BFG KO2's

3. Hmm, thinking Slee battery trays and air compressor mount, with ARB air compressor and dual optima batteries like I did in my 200. Pretty sure I'm going with Blue Sea Systems again with wire from BestBoatWire.com.

Did you have to do in mods or use spacers to get those 18” rims on the lx 2016 I really want to do the same thing is there anything I should know

I think "all the hate" on the 21" wheels is because this forum is populated by a lot of folks who like the 200 for it's off road capabilities, and about the worst thing you could do to an off-road rig (besides turning it into a low-rider) is run such big, impractical wheels. The more rubber and sidewall the better. But many LX's are strictly street rigs...which is so very weird to me. Why have crawl and massive offload potential only to stick on even-lower-hanging bumpers and that gaping train-engine grill? It just seems to be utterly unnecessary, non-functional, look-at-me bling. There. More hate fer them thar wheels! heehee :hillbilly:
And, even if one is not a true off road "mudder" and one's 4WD spends alot of time in the sand (as ours does) or deep snow requiring airing down, the aired down 21's just don't "spread" enough as the side wall is almost non existent.
