Loved my 200 so much I got my wife a 2016 LX 570. First order of business was to get her some nice AT and off those horrible 21 inch rims!

1. Went to Wilsonville Toyota in OR, and they had four TRD Pro 18 rims with 10 miles on them for $300. = D

2. Some BFG KO2's

3. Hmm, thinking Slee battery trays and air compressor mount, with ARB air compressor and dual optima batteries like I did in my 200. Pretty sure I'm going with Blue Sea Systems again with wire from BestBoatWire.com.

Congrats! Looks awesome! I have the same wheels on my 200 - never thought I'd see them on an LX570, but they definitely work! I wish I could convince my wife to go for an LX.

nice snag on the wheels!

never noticed before but the early 200 land cruisers had no belt line molding where the early 570s did. Now the cruisers have the belt line molding and the 570s dont.

So you got this for your wife? :)

Just pass along the pics to her... who knows hehe

Did you go with 285/65 or 275/65 on the 18's?

I went with the 275's which were the same as the stock 21's. Also have 275's on my Gwagon. Perfect size for me as I don't do any rock climbing.

Nice truck! Not sure what the hate is for the OEM 21" wheels though - I actually think they look great on the LX and fit the overall style pretty well. In fact, they're not too different than the 21" option on my daily...if I'm being honest I think it looks better on the LX (which is why I went the 19" wheels I guess on mine!):

Yup my wife's LX, we kept the OEM 21. For couple of reasons:

1) Its the wife's truck, why spend money on her mall cruiser.

2) Given how low the front bumper and rear bumper is, the car looks "big" and needs the 21 to make it look right.

I personally like larger size wheels on these trucks personally... well let me rephrase that, I like larger oem style wheels not aftermarket chrome!

Are you the guy who sold his 200 for a G550? How are you liking the G? I saw some specs on the new release that is going to shed some serious weight and add 4" width for the MY18.

I think "all the hate" on the 21" wheels is because this forum is populated by a lot of folks who like the 200 for it's off road capabilities, and about the worst thing you could do to an off-road rig (besides turning it into a low-rider) is run such big, impractical wheels. The more rubber and sidewall the better. But many LX's are strictly street rigs...which is so very weird to me. Why have crawl and massive offload potential only to stick on even-lower-hanging bumpers and that gaping train-engine grill? It just seems to be utterly unnecessary, non-functional, look-at-me bling. There. More hate fer them thar wheels! heehee :hillbilly:

I get it, but my guess is not many buying the 16+ LX will be wheeling it until it's 5 years old or more when the value has dropped enough for it to make sense to bang it up a little. As a street lux wagon which is what it is for 99.9% of buyers in the US, I think the 21s look proportional and great.

Funny, I have a Cayenne GTS also. Great ride. We live up in the PNW and go to the mountains and Whistler all the time. I needed a snowflake rated tire, and they don't make one for the 21 rim. 20 in rims yes... but not 21. Lame.
