Hey fellas... Lifelong hot rodder here. In fact, until a few months ago I had never owned a car that wasn't made in American or Germany. However, as a family we've been considering a move to Hawaii from Texas (it will still be a year at least). In preparation for such a move, I decided to trade my 1/2 ton Sierra for a new 2021 Tacoma. I've been lightly modifying it and REALLY enjoying it. It's under powered, has an old tranny, and is mis-geared but... I just love the little thing.

Anyway, my wife currently drives a 2018 Lincoln Navigator L. It's an amazing car. Gorgeous. Comfortable. Fast. Just amazing...

But, she too wants to downsize into something a little smaller. My first thought was a sequoia as I love the TRD Pro... But, she didn't think it was a big enough difference in size and still wanted to go smaller. While at the dealer, she saw a used 2019 Land Cruiser with 23,000 miles at $75k. Way more than I want to spend of course... BUT, she fell in love... and now she really wants one.

The thing is, the Lincoln has depreciated so much that I don't know if we can afford it.

Long winded way to ask a simple question of you guys: Is it possible to find a clean 2016+ with under 75,000 miles for $60k or less? I'm willing to travel to buy the thing, but after doing some searching, it seems like slim pickings...

Yes. Well, at least it was a few months ago. I bought my '16 in November. The market has gotten kind of screwy and prices are all over the place.

I live in CO and have an LC and I think it's small too.... when you get into the details its barely longer and wider than my wifes 3 series sedan.

There are a couple that meet your criteria (or very close) in the classifieds of this forum. Have seen one on craigslist near Nashville that fits your budget as well.

I would say your dollar to mileage is doable. More importantly how far are you willing to travel for it if your area doesn’t have any.

Nope. I also just bought a Tacoma which seemed smaller until I pulled it into my garage where the LC used to park and it didn't fit. Too long. Its harder to park in tight row parking lots than the LC. BTW, your observations on the Taco's power and gearing are dead on. Still fun to drive though.

Try using the ECT PWR button on the Tacoma. I drove my brother’s 2020 Tacoma TRD for a day recently and it was the only way I could tolerate it’s acceleration / gearing / power.

Has she driven the 200 yet? In virtually every case other than off road, the Lincoln is a much nicer vehicle - faster, better mpg, more space (extra important if you have multiple kids), far superior technology, smoother, quieter, etc. I love the 200, but I would strongly suggest spending a lot of time in one to make sure it won't disappoint her. You've already absorbed the steepest part of the depreciation curve on the Lincoln, so it would be a bummer to take a bath on it and then get something that doesn't make your family super happy.

I watched the market like a hawk for a while.
You being in Texas will help as I’ve seen good deals there. But I didn’t want to buy a car sight unseen since I’m in California.
I just got my 17 LC200 with 108k miles for under $55

I would up you mileage tolerance as you will see 100 miles drives the same as 100,000. My car looks almost brand new.

look for a one owner car that was probably leased as a business write off. If they racked up 100k miles then it’s prob mostly freeway miles so easy on the drive train (not that the LC couldn’t take it) and now three year later they traded it in for another luxury SUV.

don’t ignore the LX and the GX.

But agree with above poster. Make sure she drives it and likes it and the weird quirks it has. If you guys gonna use it for some adventures then as you can tell it’s one of the mt Rushmore cars.

But if she just wants a family hauler there are better cars for that.
