i had a 2008 cruiser, sold it because of missing options. bought another brand SUV . not happy with it because used to a landcruiser.

planning to buy a 2012 model but still not all options are offered in FIJI. i really need one with cool box and sunroof .
got one with sunroof still cool box is missing.

does anybody know where can i get one new or used cool box assembly for 200 cruiser.

i'm aware with installation method.

use the search function.

answer to your question: its gonna cost you over 2,000 in parts plus install at the very min. It has a ton of miscellaneous parts and is not sold as a add on. To give you an idea of the complexity. Its wired into the air conditioning and requires an additional AC unit. MY LC drips condensation in three parts because of the three condenser units in it.

What you wrote above is a bit confusing. You say "planning to buy" but then "got one". If you got one, then you are past the planning ;)

You should think about your reasons for wanting a cooler box and maybe let us know your type of uses of the vehicle. I say this because the little arm rest cooler is cute, but essentially useless unless the vehicle is running. You could spend $800 USD on an ARB fridge that is 1000x better than the cooler box.

There are other brands and sizes too, a few being really small that would fit in the 2nd row floor right behind your center arm rest if you desire on the go easy access. otherwise the larger sizes would fit fine in the cargo area. All of them plug into a 12v socket. They will stay cold inside much longer when off but are also very efficient so they can stay plugged/on while vehicle is off.

Do a search on Expedition Portal for fridge or freezer.

I dont know. The cool box was a high selling point for me. I dont go anywhere without frosty beverages. The chance that Ill get stuck in a 1hr jam is pretty high.

I only use my coolbox about twice a day:) I know everyone likes to say it's a gimmick etc... And to be honest when i first got it I kinda thought the same thing, but the thing really works, and gets drinks ice cold!!! and for me to have them in the front of the car while on roadtrips ice cold is huge, just my 2 cents...

I totally agree. My road trips are certainly nicer having the latch to my ARB fridge 1" behind the center arm rest. I can reach in for a drink, cold fruit, that sandwich from last night, etc.

I was just pointing out the real fridge thing in case the poster has need for keeping things cool with the vehicle off for some time.

The added bonus, going grocery shopping and then doing other things afterwards, just pop my whole bag in the fridge and no worries.

I used mine for the first time last night, that thing is AWESOME. I had one in the Range Rover a while back but this one beats the snot out of the rover one. Worked perfect and kept my beverages Ice cold. image-3833551522.webp

That's because most cooler boxes in other cars are just a small space with an AC vent. Ours actually has a condensor and operates semi independently from the central air.

Hmmm, I did not know that. Thank you for the heads up.

Additionally, it is obviously well sealed at the top edge where as the land rover coolers are not sealed.

If one had a dual battery system, the power for cooler box could be pulled from the 2nd battery to retain temps longer. Although I do not know if there is any sort of temp regulator which would keep it from running constantly.

You would have to come up with a way to drive the AC compressor other than the existing drive belt in order to make that work. The 200 series cool box is run off the air conditioning system.

Sent from my iPad using IH8MUD

I had a mechanic look at the system because I was interested in this. Having the cool box run independently of the a/c regardless if the car was on or off. He told me to forget about it. No reasonable budget would make a feasible solution. Slightly off topic. How long would a 100watt gadget run off of our battery with the car off, leaving some space to turn the car on of course?

I use the coolbox all the time in my 200 series... And it keeps drinks and stuff ice cold... But I have my first complaint about it, went up to the mountains to get our Xmas tree this past weekend with a car full of peops... The temp dropped to around 12 degrees outside, so when everyone got back in every heater in the rig was at max heat!!! Here's where the problem came into play, the cooler in the center console got super hot also, it was aactualy blowing hot air:confused::confused::confused: So my guess is that will all heaters on max the cool box can't stay cold:confused: or else I have a problem with my cool box:confused: but tried it out when I got hom and the heaters just at normal and it works great!!! Moral of the story is, if it's super cold outside and the heaters are all cranked to max you can't keep your drinks and lunch cold in the cool box:)

^ The 2013 owners manual states that the cool box cannot be used in ambient air temps below a certain point. I do not recall the exact temp, but I think it was in the 45 degrees F range ....

thanks for the info!!!

I think I agree with Jwestpro, and the minifridge idea when it's needed. The Land Cruisers have so little storage space and the center console is a great place for other stuff. So much space is wasted to keep a couple of cans cold.
