I got bored of the stock 16" wheels on our 2000 LX470 and decided to give the 20" Tundra wheels a go. Hopefully this thread helps others going with Tundra wheels on their 100series
The Tundra wheels have the same bore diameter, so they are still hubcentric on the 100series. They also use the same shank style lugs. So they fit just as securely and center up just like the factory wheels. The only problem I found is that the Tundra center caps are too shallow and don't fit the front's on the 100series due to the grease cap protruding too far out.
Here's a photo of how they fit on the 100 without modification:
I called up the trusty guys at Motorsport-Tech and asked them to machine up some custom BORA adapters for me. They did a fantastic job on the custom adapters. They are hubcentric and lugcentric to the factory Toyota hubs, and they are hubcentric and lugcentric to the Tundra wheels as well. I asked them machine the adapters to be 1.75" thick. Here are some photos of the adapter set:
Got them bolted up and they fit perfectly:
If I had to do it again I would order the adapters in 1.5" versus the 1.75". But other than that, first impressions are that the 20" wheel/tire combo rides much better on paved roads. On light gravel trails I cannot tell the difference. I do prefer 16" wheels and more rubber as far as looks on a LC, but this will keep me happy for now until its time for the next change. It'll take a while for the 20" wheels to grow on me, at least they're not too blingy.
