Hi all I'm new to the forum, wondering if anyone knows of any sales/deals going on for Roof Top Tents. (besides E-bay where I really wouldn't know the quality of the product and am fearful of warranty/customer service issues) Hate that I missed out on your group buy in March. I'm looking for two tents, one with and annex and possibly an awning too.

Thanks

Where are you located? If close to Santa Cruz, Tepui tents has scratch and dent sales.

I like the idea but the new ones cost a pretty penny.

But crazy versatile.

Check out http://www.cascadiatents.com the owner Bobby is awesome, highly recommended!

So how do the CVT's compare in quality? I saw one of their trailers at a rally and it was a complete POS (although it was also extremely inexpensive). Are the CVT's China import junk or are the up there on par with the other brands?

My CVT is awesome. It is a china import like ARB and most of the others. They have group buy deals evey so often. I got 30% off mine in a group buy. It is the only rtt I have owned so I cannot compare to other brands, but I think the quality is great.

Hello friends,
I am new here on the board and its privilege to be here. Let me know about the collection of roof tants here
if some one knows about a good deal.

ARBs are made in Thailand. Many other RTTs which are a generation of design behind (look at the Simpson III for a comparison) are made in China. AutoHome is made in Italy and there are a couple of manufacturers from elsewhere outside of east Asia. ARB tents are manufactured to a nicer spec than the Chinese tents I have seen.

As to the Chinese tents the selection from different manufacturers is very similar so the decision often comes down to cost and service from the manufacturer or vendor - like Southeast Overland.

I ran a Mombasa RTT for almost 3 years IIRC. It held up well and a Mombasa Expedition RTT is what I consider the best band for the buck at our price of $749. With the time we spend in a RTT though we are now upgrading to an ARB Simpson III.

I am thrilled with mine. Yep, it's made in China, in the same factory as Tepui RTT. (I know this for sure since my CVT tent came with a Tepui manual, but CVT logos.) Bobby is super nice and awesome to deal with. I already have two CVT awnings and one RTT. I will be buying another RTT from CVT as soon as the height adjustable rack on my EXPO trailer is finished.

Good to hear. They're close-ish so I can save on shipping. I'll look for the next GB or sale. Thanks for the post.

Call them and ask for Bobby, they have demo's, broken box etc. on sale at various times. Bobby is the owner and awesome to deal with.

Unfortunately I'm in St. Louis, Mo. Nothing near when it comes to buying RTT's.

I am not sure when you are planning on pulling the trigger on a RTT, but I am in St. Louis and would be interested in saving on shipping if we ship two at once. I would be looking at next spring to get one.

Ben

Sorry Ben I already made my purchase and received both my tents last week. Who knows by next spring I might want to upgrade though.
