The PO installed what I think to be a 3in lift kit with Lovells springs and Tough Dog HD shocks along with caster correction plates, sway bar drop brackets, adj panhards. The rig rides like an empty dump truck and my 'load' is typically some friends and surfboards so im looking to switch to the softest spring/shock combo possible. Im looking at Lovells, Ironman and TJM products but all their taller springs only come in stiff heavy duty variety. They all make a 2" 'comfort' spring.
I dont want to mess with the ride height and castor setup so im thinking to purchase the two inch soft springs and add one inch spacers. I should end up back at the same ride height with a
cushy ride, right? any downside to this setup?

I hear the Tough Dog's are pretty rough. I have a OME J lift on my cruiser and it's pretty smooth.

the Tough Dogs are serious! the shock bodies and build quality make the OME and Procomps Ive seen look like toys. Im sure they are great for an expedition loaded rig but not for my DD.

I've driven a few OME rigs here and agree they are pretty nice but wasnt sure if they were on Mediums, HD or J's.

TJM's 9-way adjustable shocks can give you a Cadillac ride, but the tradeoff is vague feeling in the steering.

This is, of course, adjustable, and you can find a really nice 'happy spot' between hard and soft.
