Having them turned by a shop that can do it while still mounted on the truck has netted better results for me...

I got distracted by the dripping heater hose so I pulled all the heater hoses that looked old including the hard lines to the rear heater. Kept the y shaped hard line to sell with the rear heater and switch. I am going to go right from the front of the engine to the heater core with one new hose.

On the return side to the engine the two heater core hoses meet in a big T fitting. I am Guessing I would need to plug the part of the T that has the return from the rear heater core. Is that correct or does it have some kind of one way valve in there?

I did bleed the brakes again while I was under there but didn't take it for a drive as I need to pick up some heater hose and coolant tomorrow.

That is the way it is on my 62. There are several write up in 60 section on what to loop together to bypass.

Yup. I just need some 5/8" hose and a 3/8" brass plug for that T on the return to the engine.

Rear seat heater plumbing successfully deleted. Warmed it up with no leaks. Now about those brakes...

Well I took it for a drive today to see if I could make it to Fayetteville. Started getting hot at Plumberville. Pulled over and screwed with the water pump belt tentioner while it cooled down. I got the belt snugged up. Started getting hot at Menifee. So I stopped there. Drove a little longer and stopped just outside of Conway again. Heater gets hot so I don't think it is a thermostats issue. I am going to change the radiator cap and see what happens once I get back home. Other than that I was cruising just fine at about 60 MPH and 3000 RPM. Mmm, 4 speed and 4.88 gears.

Going for a shake down run tomorrow at HSORVP.

It'll be rust free soon. Every time I touch something I sweep up a pile of rust.

so what's the best way to get these spring pins out? Air hammer? I wanted to ask before I destroy something.
