I have a 1995 KZJ78 with a 1KZTE that is having issue starting right away. What I mean is you sometimes (it is inconsistent) have to crank the ignition and pump on the gas a bit to get it to start. Generally longest time it takes is about is about 30 seconds.

thinking there is a small leak in fuel line or air in pump restricting fuel flow.

But seeing if anyone has had similar experience

Park with the front of your vehicle lower than the rear.

If it starts easy, it just may be a leak allowing air in.

This isn't an uncommon thing especially as these get older and older. The fuel filter housing are known to leak and suck air. Ours was loosing prime back in winter because the heater in the fuel filter housing wasn't sealing, (note not all of these trucks have heated fuel filters) and it was a rough start. Since then a round of fuel lines, fresh filter, and a housing and she'll fire right off. Some of that was overkill at the time, but I don't love working on trucks in 15 degree weather and wanted to do the job only once.
