Well the old 1HZ has just clocked 550,000 and is really in need of a bit of attention
I plan to re build the old heart but in the mean time I have picked up a 1HD-T my question is will the 1HD-T bolt strait up to my original 1HZ ?gearbox or am I going to need to change the bell housing ,flywheel , box ?
Some help advice would be fantastic
Cheers

It will bolt up perfectly into the existing box, No drama for that.
Have a look at my thread

Will have to make way for the vacuum pipe to brake booster and clutch. This is the only different.
The top cover of the air filter, find the elbow type leading down to turbo.

Suposably the hdj-79 run a larger fuel line than the hzj-79
Did you have to upsize your fuel line Wong ?
Or seems to be hzj75 line suits the 1hdt fine

Not suppose, is the fact. Clint, I have to admit that you are indeed a very observant person. Not many people comes to realize this fuel line of 1HDT vs 1HZ. Is just a minor increase of fuel pipe size, 25mm in different.
But not all 1HDT has the big fuel line, the early 1HDT is still with the same size as the 1HZ, only the late 1HDT that had 125mm fuel line. Look for at the badge at the side of the fuel pump,22100-17620 will give you a 125mm fuel pipe line.
I just squeezed that hose into the pipe, or otherwise you will have to change to whole fuel line up to the tank which is quite impossible.:D

So can you retain the thinner 10mm HZJ75 fuel line with no problems, or do you have to upsize to the thicker 12mm line when doing the swap? Mine is a 12/1997 late model 1HD-t with 12mm line pump.

No problem. I retained the factory size fuel line.

Thank you so much for the reply.
How many kms have you put on that awesome 75 with this setup since your swap ?

Rough figure around 70k km.
No regret with the swap. Mighty hdt.

And all still on the same 1HZ 275mm clutch or have you gone to the 300mm Isuzu clutch ?
