Excellent video OP, seen it before. Some one sells a shim kit out there, I found it once but I can’t remember whom sells it.

for all other bolts not listed you can refer to the Standard Bolt Torque Specifications in the FSM

There's a reason why Toyota suggests using "Packing" (pernatex) in 4 locations on the head before reinstalling the valve cover and gasket

Its not always easy to see but dont skip this step

Current Toyota packing p/n 00295-00103

Pics of some of the locations front/back below.

100% I've seen so many people who skip this step and also do not use enough and have leaks..

Great video, thanks.

What is the recommended km's to do the valve adjust?
Is this based on km's driven, or is it a "Listen to the Engine" kind of decision?
Do you have a place to purchase a valve shim assortement, and a place to rent the SST?

Is there a valve cover gasket that needs to be replaced at this time, if so do you have a part number?
Every 100 k km's is the recommendation I think.

So basically every time the timing belt and tensioner are replaced the shims should be checked. The measuring of the existing shims and calculations then sourcing/fitting replacements (where required) is time consuming and messy but worth it as it's likely some valve clearances are at or very close to zero. You don't want them negative.

I've done the measuring with the motor cold last time I did the shims on my 1hz.

The most important thing is the special tool which is not hard to find. There are places to make shims for all kinds of engines that need them. One here in Oz is called Precision Shims.

Remember that sometimes you can re-use existing shims in different locations if they match the calculated spec that's required.

No drama replacing the valve cover gasket too if you want to - 11213-17010 for 1hz. I've never had a 1hdt 80.
