Looks like we are getting lucky on this one.

The grooves on #1 on the crank journals are not deep enough to need more than .25 over bearing. The machinist has the bearings now and is grinding the crank.

This is the first crank in about ten FT/FTEs we have built that needed more than just a polish.

Bores are good and so are pistons, it’s getting a light hone and new standard rings. I sent the pistons out for coating.

FT Block/crank with scores on the #1 journals back from the machine shop. So we double checked his work on the crank with a plastic-gauge before install. All good so we FIPG’ed the girdle on and installed the rear main seal as well.

Tomorrow we will put the block on a stand. It came out really clean from the hot tank, won’t take a lot of work to paint so we are doing that too. Pistons are still out for ceramic coatings so we have to wait for those before go time on full assembly.

Head got new OEM valves, springs and stem seals. Checked for cracks and true as well. I have yet to see one that the valve guides are worn enough to need replacing.

Now this is first start, all new rubber lines from tank to pump, new fuel filter, rebuilt pump, new hard lines, new injectors. All dry and the idle on the pump was set at about 200rpms.



Pump is a bit noisy on first run due to a lot of air in the system.

Customer selected a Torqit 3” free flow exhaust. It didn’t work well with the GTurbo and honestly the dump flange was super warped. We got a Clarkfab 3D print SS dump and welded to that to tie into the Torqit exhaust.



It certainly isn’t as quiet as others we have installed but it does sound mean!

Pump seems tuned well, I only needed to dial in the idle. We will know more when we hit the streets!
