I've found a hdj81 that seems to be in good condition, except that the 1hd-t has spun a bearing. Not really a problem for me, as my LS swapping skills are pretty good, and I happen to have a spare 5.3 and 4l60 waiting for a transplant. My question is this... Is there a demand for 1hd-t cores? It'll also have a trans with It and most if not all the other diesel hardware to go with it. Thanks for the help.

Definitely yes. My buddy spun his bearing and ended up having to order a new crank from somewhere in the Middle East as it was over $2K from here. A working one in good condition with fetch I think multiple thousands. People here always complain about the high cost of a diesel swap due to the cost of engine alone. Just the injection pump must be worth a grand. We just parted out one, and my buddy kept the engine and trans as a spare.

That sounds promising. Do you happen to know what an engine core and an A442F trans is worth in the states or Canada? Only has 166000 KMs on it.

what's your reasoning? Ls is cheaper, more efficient, better power and parts availability, and I've got a spare drivetrain.

Cheaper than a crank grind , close and hone the rods and a set of bearings & rings if you wanted to freshen up ?
LS is cheaper for a reason:D..LS is more efficient ?..that's some funny sh!t right there. So you can get 10 litres per hundred from your LS swap ?
Diesels are king , reliable and dependable in the middle of nowhere ..I know what I will be taking & it ain't an LS.
Each to their own though.

I think I would rather this than a stock LS.

Well while we're here... anyone know 1HZ values real well and want to PM me? That is to say in the US.

I'm interested in the motor& transmission& all accessories if you want to sell as a whole package?
I'm,not opposed, but I want to pull the pan off first once I get this thing to see what kind of shape its in first. If I can turn the crank, ill probably keep it, but if its needing more than a turn, it'll be up for sale.
