Hi all! i am desperate for some help.

my 1HD-T TD2 12 Valve on my hdj100 form 1998 cranks but does not start.

so, the story is: Engine was rebuilt and the car now, runs good but sometimes, with no notice or sign that it is going to happen, doesn't start.

New battery, new fuel pump, revised injectors, and what it does is, it cranks, cranks, cranks but it doesn't start.

The past 4 times, i just left it where it was and got back to it later, and them it started.

i have absolutely no clue why.

its very random. This weekend, with family, it started well for 3 times, on the 4th time (till now) it simple, cranks but it doesn't start.

it seems that no fuel is reaching the engine.

Can someone help?

thanks!

I would post this in the diesel section

As the HDT is fairly normal for Rest Of World in a 100 series, it isn't very common here; at least we don't see them as often as the HDFT-E in write ups or otherwise. Would you take some photos of the engine bay so we know exactly what we're looking at? We're used to seeing HDT's in 80 series here. ;-)

Have you tried priming the fuel filter tower if/when this happens? It has a black colored plunger that you can pump to prime the injector pump. If it just had a service, especially with injector lines, it might not be starting due to air in the fuel lines. It may have a slight air leak into the fuel lines. Try it and see if it helps.

Thanks for the help. I believe it was the immobiliser that was giving me electric troubles. We've just changed the valve on the fuel pump to not be dependent of the imobilizer. @Workhorse sorry but i don't have any good pic of my 12v 4.2td engine on my 1998 hdj100 i attatch one here. I am understanding that its not really common this engine on the 100... don't know the story.
